Vin No. Needed To Get Breaks? Huh?

i got a mate of mine to source out some brake pads for my 34gtt and aparently they told him they need my vin number because brake pad sizes differ on the gtt's is this true guys? dosent sound right to me wouldnt they all be the same size?

the guy who he was speaking to is from nissan aparently n its genuine nissan part

I think the R34 GTT pads are slightly different to the R33 GTST pads. Although the R33 fits into the R34, I think the R34's have their own pad.

They ask for VIN also so that they dont mix up the models, that way Nissan gets the right part depending on whether you have a GTX, GTT, GTV etc.

They use a computer system called FAST at nissan to find the correct part numbers for each car and to find the correct part numbers they use your specific VIN.

Don't worry they aint trying to steal your car.
