Although I hate this car.....

I'd say selecting a slower car means you are growing man cans. "I'm sacared of going faster...boo hoo."

The gearbox, issue;

1) If we can agree that Slow = Gay

2) Manual gearbox is slower than DSG.

3) Manual gearbox = the new slow = Gay

The weight issue ( 'oh no my super model friends will all think I'm fat...")

4) Best factory GTR 1/4 mile time = 12.9

5) New factory GTR 1/4 mile time = 11.7

6) Old GTR's 1/4mile time now = Slow

6) In the small world of factory stock GTR's , old GTR's now = Gay.

In reality tho 2 door skyline are really 2 seaters with a huge rear storage space behind the seats

You've obviously never had to sit in the back seat of a Supra then :ermm:

The skylines have always had a surprising amount of room for backseat passengers compared to other 4/5 seater 'sportscars' out there.

I cant say iv been luckly enough to be the back of a supra and i dont really want to be either. I did sit in one and for my to fit in the car i needed to put the drivers seat all the way back and when i did the drivers seat pushed up against the rear seat which was a bit concerning.

Love it! Nothing like simple maths.

Personally I've been following the development for a while (years) and absolutely love it. The car from almost every aspect has revolutionised performance cars in it's price bracket and way beyond.

I wanna see a poll on the average age of those saying

"It sh1t. No clutch so I can't drift it"

$100 bux says it will be 16-17.

From a performance aspect, anyone who thinks the car has faults, needs to get their head read. Too heavy - for what? 11.7 not quick enough from a stock car?

Saying the DSG gearbox is crap is the same mentality as saying turbo's and over head cams are crap. I can hear the Ford and Holden fans already chanting "they cheated, it doesnt have a clutch"

FFS, Who the hell uses a 4WD for drifting anyway. The car was designed and built to be fast, why compromise with old technology. As if fighter pilots would complain because there new fighter planes didn't have propellers and bi wings.

If you want a manual buy a Skyline, the GTR is awesome as it is.

clutch pedal FTL. who hasn't ever missed a gear when they are in a rush. I sure have. In fact I grabbed 4th instead of 2nd last sat and those filthy evos were all over me in a second while I wondered wtf was going on with all my boost disappearing

the GTR is made to be as fast as it can be so if Nissan think that a DSG box will make it go faster then ill believe them.

the weight is a little concerning but the times speak for themselves.....

i think alot of the haters are just afraid of change.

its the feel and control of a manual gearbox that makes it the no.1 choice in a sports car.. who gives a f^uk about 0.2sec gear changes when you have a clutch. People who choose a clutchless gearbox in a sports car (for street use) can't drive and/or are too scared to drive a manual IMO.

The new gtr doesn't give you the choice, so that's it.

harden up son.

the stripped out, tweaked up N1 or 'Evo' version (or whatever it'll be called) should address the issue somewhat

but all cars add weight over time- the original Evo Lancer weighed about 1200kg, the current model now weighs the same as an R34 GT-R: blame higher levels of safety gear and insulation for NVH reduction, plus pandering to customers that expect luxuries and everything motorised.

i think it looks great exactly how a modern gtr should look .dsg gearboxes are the future and as you would expect with the gtr always being a leader in tech it should have all these features. the car is for the world stage now not just japan
