^^ = Karma. It is illegal to drive anywhere in Australia without at least 3rd party insurance.

Steve,

I dont mean to defend the guy for not having insurance, but your statement is not correct.

In victoria, third party (personal injury / liability) is included in the vehicle's registration fee and administered by a gov agency (the TAC). As long as his car is registered then he had the adequate minimum insurance required by law..

Doesnt cover him for damage to property or coverage of his own vehicle tho (obviously)

To the person with the stolen car - legal aid is OK but they are not really here for this type of thing. More so for hobos fighting criminal cases against them.

Try calling some professional lawyers, there are those who offer a "no win, no fee" arrangement.

Good luck.

Karma? c`mon dude, im sorry to say but not everyone believes on the same theory as you do..

We all dont know what the conclusion is to his part, he could of been buying his insurance tomorrow? next week?...who knows but it is definately questionable.

Also you probably meant question from the lawyer.

Im pretty sure Fuz888 is "reasonable" enough with his situation, it is pretty clear that the car wash company is responsible upon his stolen vehicle the moment he walked outside and saw the car in the queue while he goes and get a kebab. Even if he returned late while expecting his car is done, the time span of him being away already justifies that the car is still under their care. The only scenarios i would think of is that, since they had his keys it may have been stolen off them, which they will then be questioned about their workplace security. OR someone portrays to be him, which questions their customer confidentiality. but yes i agree it is very limited.

Anyway all the best fuzz, let us know your progress.

I re-read my post and yeah I was a bit rough (and incorrect) in my reply - sorry dude.

It's just that you have purchased a very nice car and I just wish that you had taken out insurance to look after it in this "what if" scenarios that horrifyingly came true. I hope you can see point.

I really do hope that this works all the best out for you and I strongly recommend talking to an experienced lawyer about it. Brad has an excellent suggestion about "no win no fee" lawyers. As you have a strong case they are likely to take your case on.

Ring an insurance complany and ask them what to do. They might fight your battle for if you insure with them.

Only thinking this because some insurance complanies will insure your car for two weeks before you need to pay or even have the car.

Can't hurt to ring them.

thats quite unlikely insurance companies will care.....

insurance is done before the incident...

none of em will EVER take a policy just to pay you a claim and total loss claim at that...

i work for one....

your best bet it to just call the lawyers....(its like parking centres... they have a fine print sometimes... but if you can prove that they were negligent in this case.. while the vehicle was under their care.. you may have a fighting chance...

as far as I can see it... they had your keys and they should be responsible.

about 10 years ago or so, my father parked in a small car park in Melbourne where they hold your keys, so they can shuffle the cars around as their customers need them.

at the end of the day, the car was gone...

his insurance company claimed against the company that ran the carpark.

the car was found about 8 months later when the Police uncovered it in Broadmeadows, being driven by a business man who was apparently oblivious to the crime. I don't know who chased up the issue.

hi everyone,

guys and girls. i have some bad news(for me atleast!) i am no longer able to get online and tell you guys whats happening with my car theft from the car wash. i seem to have found myself being sued for taking it there to be washed. no i am not joking with you guys. all because i got a little heeated up on the phone about why im not being taken care of coz i have to work, and pick up kids.. etc.. yes, im being sued by the guy, he even said he'l have a whole team of lawyers against me. i havent even told him im going to take him to court! to be honest with you guys, i am really scared, i have never been to court or even a police station before. im also afraid about seeing a lawyer just because i have heard they can really be expensive..

anyway, this is what iv been served, and i shall face it. i thank you all for the negative and positive criticism :P i dont want to be online about this issue anymore because i learnt on the internet that i can be sued for defamation as well. i choose to not correspond anymore just to save myself. again thank you all. just one thing before i go, i have a question for the site administrator, if i want to delete my account on this site is that possible?

thank you all again

fuz.

fuzz, toughen-up man. You are the one whos car was stolen. You have every right to be angry that your car was stolen and

NOONE can legally or other wise do anything to you for getting whatever help you can to recover your car or be compensated for it. If they were negligent and there is not more to this story than you are telling us !! You should be the one pushing for court not him. This only speeds the process up for you !!.

You will only be in trouble if you openly slander the Car Washes name and cost him business. Be careful with that, and that alone.

Like I told you before. You should get legal advise and you should be suing him NOT the other way around. This is just a scare-tactic. (that appears to be working).

No one can stop you being a member here or anywhere else for that matter It is in Fact Unlawful-You just have to be careful not to mention names in public forums.

Good luck either way !!

If you are telling the truth, there is nothing to be scared of because it is an accepted defence against defamation in Victoria (you are in Vic right?)

There is nothing for you to be scared of. But, I would recommend that you stop communication with the car wash, its workers and their lawyers. Push all communication through your own lawyer.

Ditto these two posts above... do NOT take that crap laying down!

There is no mention of the name of the business, so NO defamation.

As for being online is not safe... bollocks.

In the most respectful way, you need to harden the f... up, go and see legal aid or a no win - no pay lawyer and take this guy to the cleaners... sorry for the pun.

Get some advice (professional) and do not communicate with the owner or the employees in any manner other than via a legal person.

Get some advice and get it NOW.

I think you may actually find that you have unearthed a professional scam.

Hi,

I'm new here, so I hope I'm doing this right

I am in South Australia (Marion) and just bought a 2003, 350Gt Coupe. Silver, Automatic Premium Edition.

I drove it from Sydney after I got an immobiliser installed and have been very impressed with the car all round, although I would like to do something with the TV/Satnav

My other car is a Mitsubishi GTO, which I suppose I'll have to sell now :)

John

I can 100% vouch for Chris's work John.

I flew him down to SA a couple of weeks ago to install some gear on my car (V35 GT300 Sedan).

His attention to detail is second to none and what he doesn't know about V35's could probably be written on a matchstick.

PM me if you want a chat.

BTW the "some" gear was as follows:

Ipod Connection

New alarm

Digital TV Tuner

Flip down rear DVD screen (with w/less headphones)

DVD Player

Cruise Control

All perfectly integrated into the car.

Will post up some pics when I stop being slack. :)

Cheers

Geoff

don't know about specialists...as you know there's not many of these cars in perth. I've taken mine to autoworkshop

5/77 John Street, Welshpool, WA, 6106

they seem pretty good and price was reasonable.

Otherwise, best place is prolly to take it back to the dealers coz our cars arn't that different from the 350Z

post pics of ur car.
