Hello guys,

Just a quick update, I picked up my v35 sedan last Tuesday and I must say these last couple of days have been fun. It has similar performance to my mazda 6 mps, but no hair dryer strapped on this time (all NA power :thanks: ). I don't know if anyone notices this, but I feel that this engine wants to be driven hard as I feel I have all this power under my foot. Anyway, I just want to make myself official to this forums as I'm now the proud owner of a skyline :D.

One question, the cat back exhaust came from Japan, and it's a cannon style tip. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what brand it could possibly be as I can't find a bolt on cat back with a cannon tip ??

Hi, mate. Congrats on your purchase.

What are your plans for it? Are you chasing more power, or going for the looks first?

As with the cat-back exhaust, did that come installed with your car? Photos might help to identify it.

Thanks Victor T for the welcome,

I'm not really chasing anymore power as the car is powerful enough for the road. The exhaust itself already adds a nice tone and all that is left to do is fix up the air intake section. You see, the guy from Japan did the most dodgiest job to put a pod filter in the car. What he did was cut off the end of the MAF housing, removed the airbox and placed the pod in place. Originally I was going to go for a Fujita air intake kit, but with the exhaust already deep and mean sounding as it is, having the intake kit too will be very loud for my standards. Mind you that the exhaust piping is 3" from the cat back, orignally I was worried that there will be a powerloss, but my friend told me that a cat back exhaust is mainly for sound and hence I decided to keep it. What I'll be going for is the Z-tube, the MAF housing itself and a K&N (33-2031-2) drop in panel filter. That should keep the engine and authorities happy :) :)

I was fortunate enough that the previous guy in Japan, put some pretty good lowered springs. Further inspection revealed that they are RS-R springs. All that is needed is put on some nice wheels. I want to run staggered offset being my first RWD sports car (I'm thinking 18's or 19's)

I'll try get some pictures is

Always a pleasure to meet another V-series owner. :)

I agree with you on not having a very loud exhaust system, especially on a sedan. I would suggest to go with 19 / 20 inch wheels as they will look nicer than 18 inch.

There are information on SAU concerning intake systems to help you get started. I can't give you any suggestion on this as mine is still stock engine wise.

Good luck.

You are welcome.

You can share your Legacy/Liberty ideas in "General Automotive Discussion" thread.

With most car parts, Chris Rogers is the person to contact. Other than that, you probably best to post up what you are after and there should be someone who can help you out.

Good luck.

Hey everyone, I have some pictures of my car. Well I had them for a while but I couldn't be bothered posting them :P. It is a 2006 coupe, automatic, 55k on the clock, condition is 4.5 and interior is B. I am not sure if the color is silver or 'Liquid Platinum' which is available on 2006 models. Hopefully it is the latter as I haven't seen anyone with that color:

Took me over a month to find my car. I wanted it to be automatic, 2005 or above, with the 7 spoke wheels as seen in the pictures, white or silver in color and around the 55k mark on the clock or less. I already paid for the car and it is getting on the boat at the end of December :D.

Hey Mikhail,

Your V looks very nice. 2006 and above models are still abit rare on the roads. I personally only seen one at dealer.

Let us know when it arrives and looking forward to seeing you and your V.

Hey all,

Just imported my V35 Coupe (04) Manual just recently. Auction grade 4.5. Silver, has a kit, wheels, Fujitsubo exhaust and Pioneer Carrozzeria MD/DVD/TV/AV player (which is great as I don't have to change the fascia, its been done for me!!)

80,000KM (with books).

Previous owner had got 2 spare keys as well which is good.

Only thing recently was the car started to heat up high. Was in a car park and pulled up and saw steam starting to come out. Pulled up bonnet and noted that Fans weren't kicking it (common problem). Previously was driving on the highway at night the day before so the air would have kicked the fans over.

I let it cool down than took of the radiator cap and ran it with the heater on, noticed some bubbling (not massive) so hoping it was air/faulty thermostat/blocked radiator rather than cracked gasket.

Fuse's were fine, I didn't try to kick the fans over with 12v but will try some time during the week however I have a strong hunch that the fan motors have gone so have ordered the entire shroud from U.S (I ordered the same ones a member did).

Will be ordering a standard thermostat as well.

http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

Once it arrives, will do a full flush of the radiator and hopefully its all good.

Other than that, has been a great car to cruise around in. Have been in quicker cars but the way it sits on the highway and the low down torque makes it a solid drive.

Oh the previous owner had ticked the fold in/mirrors face down when reversing option (which can be turned off) so yay !!

Hi all

A month ago we picked up my wife’s new ride from NSW. It’s a 2003 V35 Premium & the previous owner was a sticker whore. The pictures attached clearly show this & we since removed the "shopping list" behind the front wheel arches, saved the badges for that nice clean look, removed the wing (this will eventually be replaced with a narrow boot spoiler) & removed a number of other decals & stickers that were plastered inside & outside the car like the Gran Tourismo one seen on the front bumper. The wife does not really like the NISMO S-Tune sticker kit but I don’t mind it as it’s just like the car that features on the front of the V35 NISMO S-Tune catalogue which I just purchased off eBay. We live in Mt Warren Park about halfway between Brisbane & the Gold Coast. Whilst my wife works locally we do take it out in the weekends for runs up/down the coast as it’s like sitting in a comfy leather recliner when compared to my worked HR31 coupe. In the coming weeks it will be given the "Chris Rogers" treatment as our Japanese is not good & will probably install an iPod connector as well as sorting out the DVD so the girls can watch DVD's when they out with us. As its now registered in QLD were unable to keep the MR35GT plates so it’s now 43HAW (4-SHAW) which is our surname. Give us a wave if you spot us, we always do so to all other liners.

Hi Andrew (& Amanda), welcome to SAU.

You know Chris, its funny but now that we have the V35 we seem to see lots more of them around. I have seen the blue one you talk of & a few other silver & white ones around on my way up/down the M1 Monday-Friday. I will be contacting you in the coming weeks & have more of a chat about what we would like to get done.

Hi All,

Figured it was about time to introduce myself. About a month ago I picked up my new V after having been browsing for almost 4months and finding the one for me

Its a Pearl White 2003 350GT 70th Anniversary Edition (auto) Grade 5 import. So it comes with all the Premium model options (BOSE audio + screen etc) plus full leather heated seats and bi-xenon headlights. A couple of other aftermarket extras on the car when I picked it up were Kenwood 2din headunit with FM/DVD/TV/NAV/HDD, Infinity grill and badges, tinted tail lights, Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust system, 18" ADR Design S-07R Rims and a Viper/Clifford alarm and remote start. Got some mods planned, but nothing too extravagant or expensive just yet.

Have been enjoying everything about it. Its so much fun to drive, all the features are great. I Live in Geelong and I have only seen to others driving around so the looks I have been getting and the amount of people asking what it is (probably due to the Infinity badges) has been a treat. Only a couple of things have gone wrong so far. The audio needs rewiring, the previous owner did a terrible job so some speakers ain't working. Getting this fixed tomorrow. Battery died a couple of days ago. Was easy to replace though. I have seen a couple of others on the forum have the same problem, I can put up the details of the battery up if you are interested, only cost me $85. Only other problem is the VCD/SLIP light keeps coming on and staying on. I think this is due to the aftermarket rims and the offset which is upsetting the sensor or something???

Anyway enough rambling for now. Below is a few photos from it Carsales advertisement.

Hi every one :action-smiley-069:

Just picked up my v35 coupe on Monday.

Its in the rare metalic silver... with 33K on the clock. The lazy auto, with 19" rims, premium, with black leather interior.

My previous car was a Toyota Soarer twin turbo, and before that a different Turbo, so its a little strange for me to drive NA, but good . This car feels more like a go-cart to me, than the Soarer, and Still feels like I am driving "someone elses car" I had the Soarer for 6+ years.

My plans are for window tinting and a Carputer; my CD stacker is jammed, radio has not been convereted, and all my tapes are in storage and I think I am past all my 80's music...

I am still learning where / what all the butons do. The one thing that I have not worked out yet, is how to adjust the dim on the dash :teehee: when the lights are set to "Auto". As soon as the lights turn on (driving under a bridge / tunnel), the dash goes REALLY dark. Where is the adjustment? I have downloaded the G35 owners manual and the G35 service manual, but where they say the dimmer swithch is, (but LHD) is nada for me.

    • No idea about the remote start part. If the V37 nav is anything like other Nissan JDM vehicles, you can't get the factory Japanese nav working in australia, a card from a different car almost certainly won't work, those cards are usually matched to the serial number of the DCU.  You could be possibly swap out the components from a AuDM Q50 to get it working, but if this is a new model (2021+) 400R, then you will lose the newer features like ACP/AA.  That said, if you have ACP/AA, just use google maps.. I assume a band expander would be required to get the local radio stations, but don't forget the Japanese FM band is narrower than ours, so you still might not be able to receive all Australian stations. I can't see any reason the tyre pressure sensors won't work here, there is the sensor unit inside the rim and the receiver nearby in the wheel well.  I have never had to change the batteries on my 2015 Q50, so I assume they last quite a while.  A straight battery change shouldn't need them to be re-registered as they are the same unit, that should only be required if you replace a sensor with a new one.   Word of warning, if you ever go into the 'secret' diagnostics mode on the main screen, DO NOT EVER do a 'reset' in this menu, it will erase all of your model specific data in the DCU and you will need a trip to a dealer to re-program it all, which would be particularly painful being an import.  This applies to the AuDM Q50 too.
    • There is a known issue with the mix door motor on the Q50 which causes these symptoms, not sure if it is common on the Y51 though.
    • That ring thing is interesting how it's holding everything together
    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance

One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
