Welcome and best wishes for your importing and compliance- did my head in when I did mine all those years ago.Can you upload pics instead of us req google drive?.

Thanks! Sorry about Google Drive, I forgot to set the permissions so anyone can view, all done now. How do the rest of you upload pics?

The import agent generally takes care of most of the importing and compliance work, all I need to do is pay the invoices they send me, and find a way to kill time. I'm planning to get a nissmo rear spolier for it, and add in a bluetooth/touchscreen navigation/music unit soon after it arrives. (Assuming I still have any money left haha) Cruise control would also be a nice feature to have.

Hi everyone! I picked up my very stock CKV36 Type S (slate blue) today. Very pleased to be driving a NA again. Gonna try to keep it stock for a while, but I've already got a shopping list for coilovers, arms and new shoes :D

Also I think I accidentally set the navigation on it earlier, does anyone know a shortcut to cancel route guidance?

I just received a few more images of my V35 to be, just before it leaves Japan. (2003 Premium 6sp Manual, 80k km) Thought I'd share as it looks pretty amazing! No Sat/Nav, but all the other premium features are there including the BOSE system. I'm not sure about a sunroof, none of the pictures show the roof well enough for me to tell, can anyone notice it for me? I'm not too fussed either way, but it will be a cool surprise when I see it in person if it's there.

Hey everyone,

I am also new - but have been reading and researching in the forums for quite some time now as a guest - then just signed up as a member last month.

I am waiting for mine to arrive off the boat in Brisbane at the end of the month.

Picked up a very rare Auction grade 5A with 8000km's - brand new condition.

- 6 Speed Coupe

- Premium Pack

- All options including Sunroof

- Only thing I wanted black but ended up getting this nice silver one because it was taking so long to find a nice black one with all the options and this silver one had everything I wanted.

I went through a company called GT Projects www.gtprojects.com.au - which this is my second car from them.

I personally know the manager and he's a top bloke, only bring in quality cars - I built his web site. (sorry for the plug haha)

I've attached a few pics of my ride. Can't wait to pick it up!

Cheers,

Damien

Hi all, proud owner of a 2003 V35 had it for about 2 months now. So far only mods I've made are the halo headlights.

I'm from Sydney and would love to meet up with some of you for drives, meets and pick your brains on our V35s!

Im keen also. Mines a white v35 and its been in my ownership about 2 months. Still very much in love with it too.

I wonder if youre thinking exhausts a little bit yet?? or a LOT hehe

EDIT; Too many Toos

Hi guys this is my first post.

Just bought myself a 2006 gt350 sedan and thought I'd sign up here and share.

Bought my new "family sedan" from road and track at silver water Sydney. Had it a few days and it developed a strange random surging issue that came out of nowhere. So back it went and I went home with a loan car (also a skyline). So far can't fault their service just hope they can fix the problem.

When I pick it up I'll endeavor to post some pics but would really like some advice on who to take it to for performance upgrades and mods.

Thanks guys and girls.

P.s. I'm around the hawkesbury area outside of Sydney if anyone else is local.

I couldnt find the result of the problem in this forum, whats happened to it in the end?

I like how you used the "family sedan" trick on your partner too. Mine was more like "Family cruiser that the kids will love when we have them" haha

Hi All,

Well I am significantly new to this forum and just as new to importing a car, so forgive me if I say something dumb. While I won't bore you with issues with a certain company compliancing my '04 Nissan Stagea ARX. I will ask if anyone knows to whether HID headlights were indeed a stock item for this model and if so, why would they be removed and replaced with a halogen globe as part of the compliance process ? i would have thought that if it was simply an incorrect color output that the globe would be easily replaced with another HID globe that is correctly rated ? I've ridden pushbikes at night for years, and while I know that its a touch different to driving a car, but they are in my opinion a massive improvement from Halogen globes, and have seen many cars both after market and as standard that don't bother me while driving and yet have a great output on the road. Am I missing something or am I answering my own question without realising it ?

Additionally if anyone else has imported an m35 ARX, it would be awesome to know what it was noted as on the compliance certificate. As mine has been put down as a 350RX-Four.

Sorry if this isn't the right spot to pursue answers but I am busting to get my car on the road, and I am trying to make sense of things...

Cheers

Welcome!

AFAIK they always remove HID headlights during compliance. Seems like a double standard to me that local cars can be delivered with them but not imports.

"Fitting HID headlamps is permissible providing that they are fitted with automatic headlamp levelling devices and headlamp cleaners. They must also conform to any requirements in set in Australian Design Rule 13."

Welcome blade. I dont know if its changed but my HID on my V35 S2 2005 were disconnected on compliance (2007) & I had to refit them. It had something to do with matching the right Aust standard which wasn't available at that time- I would think it should be ok now. I cant be sure for the Stagea but should be very similar. On the V35 it wasn't that hard to put back- make sure the compliers give you the wiring and the HID fitting or get them to fit after its registered - its perfectly legal to have them- just the compliance

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
    • I should video mine, will prob do it tomorrow    Between 1st and 3rd, you could fit another two gears. That is how loose and wobbly it is   horrible:(
