@colin.ssc

Try KYP in Welshpool.

Rattle from middle of car could either be cats or exhaust pipes, heat shields or like mine, something in my car is making the rattle. Should be something under the passenger seat. I have not taken the seat out yet to have a look.

I just bought a 2007 370GT S from a mate here in Adelaide. I'm retired so I reckon I will lift the average age of members but you're never too old to learn they say and that's what I'm here to do. This forum has already yielded a mine of information which enabled me to make an educated buying decision. Even though it is 40c+ I can't stop myself going out to the carport to admire the Skyline's curves. Phwoar!

Hey guys.

Long time member, occasionally paid when I was in Qld with my R33. I have just bought a fairly decent condition '03 350gt. Looking forward to getting back in to the Skyline world and once again owning something that is fun to drive and I don't just hand over to my local mechanic every 10,000km. I pick it up tomorrow.

Hi, newbie here, purchased this v36 a couple of weeks ago, happy so far, fully loaded with sunroof and leather and cruise control. Had English conversion stereo fitted last week which really makes the car, big brakes and 20" wheels. Edit coilovers as well

Google or ebay for your items.

There are is lots of info about the language conversion in this forum. But some Audio shop or import shop in Victoria should be able to help.

Some forum members would have all the info you need but they might not come online for weeks or months or ever :(

Hi Everyone,

I have a newly acquired 2004 V35 as a daily driver which I acquired from my son as he is now on the path of home ownership. I must say I really enjoy driving this car. I have upgraded the brakes and replaced front suspension bushes and ball joints which have improved the driving. The BOSE radio has failed but I was able to turn it off so the A/C controls are working. If anyone has some advice to offer on the merits of Aepro and Metra double din facia replacements and a good head unit that gives me handsfree phone SIRI and and Apple Car play I would be pleased to benefit from their experience.

Other than that I will be interested in hearing other peoples experiences and learning from them on how to maintain my V35 in tip top order

Welcome.  I think the general consensuses of the metra/aeopro double din fascia is to avoid !!.. they are cheaply made and cause issues.  However, the genuine double din fascias are expensive and hard to come buy.  If you do find one, make sure you are aware the Series1 ( up to 2004) fascia is quite different to the series2/3 (late 04 onwards).

Yes you can use parts from the 350z but not all parts. Servicing is no different to any other car. The engine is very common.

I owned a 350GT 2003 model for about 8 years (changed Jan 2022). In that time I remember the following maintenance/issues/repairs, and where I sourced the parts:

  • Ignition coils. The first I got directly from the mechanic no probs. Nissan. The others I went on eBay and got NDK
  • Brake Rotors and Pads. No issue. I changed the pad material because the rims were heavily coated in dust. The new ones had virtually no dust, but the squealed like a banshee when cold.
  • Electric Window winders, both sides. Randomly played up (lightly smacked the side of the door to get them  temporarily working), stopped working all art once. I took them out, pulled them to pieces, cleaned them inside (especially around the carbon brushes & springs and the spindle spike), applied an electrical conductive grease (from JayCar), put them together, and remounted them. They worked perfectly after that. I think i got at least 5 more years till I disposed of the car.
  • Tires. Obviously not an issue...
  • Rims. No issue, but I damaged my previous ones (aftermarket, from Japan when I bought the car)
  • Oil & filters
  • Air filters
  • And really minor things such as window wiper blades.

Thats all I remember. Nothing major, until someone drove "through" the car in a multistory parking garage; and drove off. Apart from a "Good Samaritan" leaving a note on my windscreen with the offenders numberplate, an attendant following them in re-parking on a different level (with lic. Plate), my car was parked right next to the automated pay machine, so it had numerous cameras on it. He / She was fined by the police for their attempted get-away. The reason I tell this story, I had insurance do the repairs. They made 5-10 crappy attempts, and on one of the last failed attempts, I pointed out that at the correct angle, the bumper had waves/light reflection distortions on the surface (long straight florescent tube had a circular reflection). After some arguing, they agreed to correct it. Later, the assessor told me he found "the single last new bumper" in Australia. Which I thought was weird for a car never sold in Aus. ie there were  *possibly* new body panels in Aus,. And why would he continue looking if he found one? insurance pays, not the repairer They eventually gave up and paid me out. After screwing me around for almost a year.

Generally speaking, I never had issues with parts/repairs. Its a Nissan, and they try and re-use parts between what they sell, inc locally.
