don't know why, maybe it's tradition, but round vents have been the staple for some of the top cars...

I hate the round vents. First time i saw them was in a Toyota Echo and they just seem cheap and nasty to me. I'm sure they work great, but they aren't aesthetically pleasing to me./quote]

Guess you belong in the smallest of small minority group. Round vents - along with round taillights, round watches, round plates etc are actually more aesthetically pleasing to the human eye than any other shape. Thats why you see that most supercars have round vents and taillights. Rounded shaped objects are in fact more structurally stronger than any other shaped objects.
