Please Help With Problem

I have done a search on this but cannot find anything.

My problem is when i accellerate i'm getting this noise from what sounds like the exhaust. Best way of describing it would be a machine gun popping sound. Its fast and when it occurs the boost seams to fluctuate. Very strange given i just spend 1800 on fixing the engine up 2 days ago. it also happens at idol and comes on and off randomly.

Only thing i have touched since i got my car back was my boost gauge. Had my engine running whilst the gauge its self was disconnected from the air tube (only to move my car out the drive). The tube was sucking air but i don't think it would have been this.

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like missfire mate, around what RPM does it occur? theirs many things that can cause missfire eg coils, spark plugs, ignitor. Could also be your car going into R&R.

I'd say around 3-3500 it starts under accelleration, however it still does it at idel too?

What is R&R?

Guess i'll take it back to my mech and see what happened!

Take it back, u didnt pay 1800 for more problems. Exactly what Dave said
