post some pics mate. got a call from bruce saying u were geting an immobilizer fitted. i opted to make it an alarm as well for an extra hundred

nice 1 mate. did u get leather and sunroofs. what sort of ks on the clock, mine is claimed to be 64 thousand but looking at my drivers leather seat condition it would be more like 80 or 90. im also guessing you have the warranty? this will come in realy handy. when did they tell u that your car will be on its way

no i didnt get leather or sunroofs mine is said to have 64km but im waitng till i see some better photos for a better estimate. yeah i got the warranty hopefully i dont have to use it.

when i get the car im gonna go over it with a fine tooth comb and give it a big service for piece of mind.

they havent given me an estimate of when its gonna be sent but im guessing/hoping next week sometime.

what are they charging you for shipping? mine is around $1300 i think.

yea $1360 to be exact, our cars might be on the same truck as mine is coming over late next week. just getting the front bar fixed cos of a small crack then detailing and thats it. the warranty is the shizzle, saved me 4 grand and have got a few contacts from the work that got done :). u gonna keep yours stock or do a few mods. also is urs rwd or awd?

im gonna do some mods hopefully when money permits just bolt on stuff mainly

mine is rwd.

what did you have to already claim on the warranty?

what work was done?

I bought my S2 from motorvation back in March '06.

In general they were great to deal with and very helpful - even picked us up from the airport when we flew over to buy it.

My advice would be to get the car checked out by a mechanic or some kind of vehicle inspection people asap.

We got the 12 month warranty with ours but dont put much confidence in that one. The list of what it covers is mainly engine, gearbox, drivetrain, all of which nissan cars are famously good for. If something's going to be faulty its more likely turbo or suspension IMO. Actually my car had issues with both of these. We had the rear shocks replaced but this was only covered by the dealer 3 month/5000km warranty NOT the 12 month warranty - so thats why I said get it checked out ASAP.

As far as the turbo goes, the warranty only covered up to $700, which wouldn't even have paid for a replacement 2nd hand one. In the end we upgraded the turbo at our own cost. To get warranty you have to use the mechanics listed with the warranty network - and most of those dont have the first clue what a stagea is, let alone a turbo. We decided that something as important as the turbo would be best done by a specialist.

In all though, 20 months later the car is still going great. The front suspension should probably have been fixed too but wasn't noticeably bad at the time we bought it.

From what we've experienced with the car and the condition it was in when we bought it, it is quite likely the kms were genuine (or at least very close to) and that the car had been sitting in a caryard for several years. And I'm now thinking that its possibly better to buy a car with higher kms thats been driven regularly than one thats been sitting around for years...but we haven't done too badly.

Still very happy with it, driven to brisbane and back in it, and on several short holidays in SA (i live in adelaide), and its still purring along. so aside from the initial issues with turbo and suspension, its not needed anything else done since, other than the usual servicing. Great car :D

got a new pic of my stag and was way hapy untill i noticed that my eyelids had been removed. they said it was for compliance and would try get them back but dont like my chances,

the warranty on offer at the moment is 5 years and lucky for me i have a good mechanic that is awn registered an auto sparky and a gearbox place. they chose the base package but am going to upgrade to the premo package for a few extra $. u might want to look at doing the same rusy

yeah i may upgrade the warranty depending on the extra cost.

thats crap about your eyelids you should definitely get them back imo.

i didnt end up getting photos today as they said "the camera ran out of battery" ?

thats charlie the unicorn hahaha great cartoon.

youtube it if you havent seen it!

Charlie: "Oh God, what is that?"

Unicorn 1: "It's a Leoplourodon, Charlie.

Unicorn 2: "A magical Leoplourodon."

Unicorn 1: "It's going to guide our way to Candy Mountain."

Charlie: "Alright guys, you do know there's no actual Candy Mountain, right?"

Unicorn 1: "Shun the non-believer!"

Unicorn 2: "Shun."

Unicorn 1: "Ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-dah..."

Charlie: "Yeah..."

Leoplourodon: "Blurghdahwahalahblahblahblah eeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh"

Unicorn 1: "It has spoken!"

Unicorn 2: "It has told us the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy."

Charlie: "IT DIDN'T FREAKING SAY ANYTHING!"

- it's sssssssooooooooooooo lame, yet sometimes I can't get it out of my head... Saw it about 6 months ago, and my sister (who's 28 and should know better ) still quotes it to this day.

    • I clean my wheels every time I was the car, I also clean the barrels, the only product I use on the wheels is truck wash, followed by wash and wax, cleaning the barrels is easy with one of these microfibre thingies on a stick from Sabco, there also great for getting in between the front guards and body, and tight spots in the engine bay ย
    • An updated post here. Sounds to me like there's definitely a bit of sketchiness here.ย  Old mate with 10 rusting Torana's in the front yard might be more who they're focussed on. (For right or wrong).
    • Is this not just about people wrecking, and storing, multiple cars in their front yard? I now a tow truck driver that was contracted by the council to clean up housing commission front and rear yards in houses and unit car parks I'm all for working on, and doing maintenance on your car in your garage or driveway, but some people definitely take the pissย  There's one house locally to me that I walk past regularly where the front yard and driveway looks like a wreckers, multiple cars in various stages of being stripped, and the yard looks like all of fluids are basically dumped on the ground I may be wrong, but it seems that the initial reports, which I've seen nothing actually official about yet, may be getting taken out of context, like alot of the latest "the sky is falling" stuff found on the youtubes for clicks
    • have they? Link appreciated. I live in Casey. I can see both sides of the argument in this case. There's a lot of sketchy stuff going on. There needs to be a clear definition of what this is supposed to be IMO. I wager the intent was to be a broad sweeping brush against people who have 4 cars up on blocks on their front lawn, not someone who services their own car behind their own gate on a weekend bothering probably nobody. But it'd be hard to legislate the difference there.
    • Oh, the wheels were already off. I wouldn't normally take them off to clean them although it does make it easier with the ceramic, so I might take them off when reapplying. I don't drive much but now with the ceramic coat, when I do drive and they get dirty I can get most off with the pressure washer. I'll be switching to dirtier pads soon which was the motivation for the ceramic as I usually just clean them and sometimes use Autoglym wheel protector. Nah, f**k the barrels! Haha, I'll give them a quick scrub when they're off the car and a pressure wash, but even I draw the line with the barrels. Yes, dark coloured wheels allow you to get away with a lot! ย
