yes it is bursons, they have a website but they dont have an online catalogue, but you call 1300burson

and ask for a fender roller.$175

they are all over australia, the closest one to me is seven hills , sydney

Another company can get them for 200 is AUTOLAC

They both have a 2 day wait on them cause they are shipping them up from melbourne ( same distributor )

That just about wraps it all up, now i have to get the tool and perform surgery on the guards

Keep you all posted!!!!!!!!!

ima gonna go to the penrtih one tomorrow and order one i think .. $175 is too good a price

Why are they so cheap? I would've thought they'll be at least $400, but $129? That's crazy cheap.

I'm just gonna wait till the Christmas sales. :whistling: I don't even have a licence or a proper car I can drive yet so no point buying it JUST yet.

Well i just picked mine up

normal chinese tool, but still sturdy and looks like it will do the job pretty well. hopefully i'll find some time soon to test it out

ended up getting it for $145 from burson's in penrith

was changing some upper control arms, so while the wheel was off i bolted the unit on to get a feel for how it worked, fits good and will do the job.

there will be alot of adjusting involved since the wheel arches arent a perfect circle

also need to remove the calipers to get the unit to do a full sweep.

heres a pic - not bad for $145

  • 2 months later...

Myself & a mate flared the guards on my S14 a month or so back.. Im running 18x9 +25ish on the rear of the car with the 265's which came with them & I have my car on the deck.

Her'es something different if your ballsy enough to try it :) worked awesome for me...

We used a jack handle first with a heatgun to roll the inner lip slowly driving back & forth.

Then once the inner lip was rolled we got 2 sheets of thin Ply, 2 very thin pieces of aluminium & a scissor jack for the flaring.

Put the scissor jack in your wheel arch & wind out so that it has alluminium then wood pushing against your guard slowly heat the arch & keep increasing the tension on the jack & it will push your guard out.. you will have to move the jack 3 or 4 times so you get an even flare but the results were excellent.. I got about an inch out of my guards with no cracking, so now I can fit my 18x10 +18's :D

Pics below... If any of you have seen standard S14 guards you will appreciate how much flare we have got in the 2nd pic..

We custom rolled my guards with a piece of round metal pipe lift car up put pipe in then roll the car with handbrake off worked well for free and about 5 mins work each front been done to au falcon too with custom paint worked quite well, i was like maybe abit dodgey but once it was doene came up a treat and 10 minutes i can do lol

there are heaps and heaps of threads on this dude..

no it wont screw anything up.. maybe your paint on the lip but thats it..

rolling and flaring are 2 different things. and both are only done to the outer skin... not the inner guard if thats what your referring to.

Yeah, don't want to flare.

dont waste your money on the burson tool its a heap of shit, mine threaded on the first guard about 5 passes in. next time id pay someone else to do it. however i have welded a few nuts and a new bolt onto the burson tool and it has improved it out of sight.

and craved, the washers on the handle are to go under the wheel nuts. if anyone was wondering?

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
