Av a lon drive and you'll want to do burn outs till the auto dies.

Allow from about $32,000 plus tyres and on road costs for this one, thanks to the 5 speed transmission which tends to add another $4,000 to $5,000 to the price of 1996+ Chasers. Compliance would require removal of all performance modifications including the aftermarket intercooler. Following registration, the owner could of course fit back the original modifications if they wish to, in keeping with the licensing regulations of their State.

Another example of the cars the Govt. don't want us to have, modified that is. Stock standard examples will be eligible for import.

Chasers like this one are now eligible under the new SEVS system, and compliance is only a matter of weeks away. Now is a great time to buy before Australia-wide demand increases the prices which is inevitable. This model is destined to become as popular an import as the Skyline and Soarer have been for the last 3 years. The modifications on this one would have to be removed and replaced with factory items to get through compliance. Following registration however, there are no restrictions on owners making performance modifications to their vehicles providing they comply with their State's regulations.

Saw one of these the other day driving behind it on the Parkway in Canberra. Thought it was just sum regular jo-blo camry till i got closer and saw Mark V Series 2 on the back. It was black & was being granny driven by the owner. Looks so much like a sleeper I reckon anyone that gives it a go would get a shock!

I have seen a MkII JZX100 in the flesh, the first and only one at the time, and prob still now in australia, it is at a dealership on parramatta road, and it is F***ING BEAUTIFUL. It is one of the only auto( :D ) cars id love to own.

SO yeah if u want to see one, drive down parra road, i forget the dealership, it is one of the import dealerships on the side going towards the city. Well worth seeing, i think they want about 36k for it.

    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
    • They definately are coming back around, so many GTRs coming through again with them.
    • Besides which. If you have a Haltech waiting - don't waste your time and effort and money trying to get the boost sensor. Just f**k the stock ECU off and put the Haltech in. Then you won't need the boost sensor.
