connecting amp up

dudes i bought one today when i bought my kicker sub....

i have the rca leads there just wondering on do i need to connect it 2 the battery and earth it aswell???

connect ur positive to the positive on the battery and just earth the negetive somewhere in ur boot, u will also have ur remote wire which is blue which go's from ur headunit to the appropriate place on ur amp, its job is to activate a relay so ur amp is only on when ur headunit is on. ur RCA's should plug straight into ur amp. hope that helps.

run the positive wire from the battery down the opposite side of the car to the RCA leads from the head unit if u want to prevent engine noise through the system

better do it now than have to fix it once its all finished!

Most people recommend you bridge a heavy duty fuse into the line as close to the battery as possible to prevent your amp being fried in case of strangeness in the electrical system.

Its pretty easy though, plug and play.. the only prob really is running all the lines down your carpet and things into the boot. Otherwise its exactly how NA_R33 describes.

Run the remote line down one side, and the RCA down the other to prevent interference.

Engine noise interference is usually caused by the position of the ground, and doesnt have anything to do with the position of the rca's altho these can suffer from different types of interference...
