hey guys, i was on a test drive today trying to sell my car and gave it a hit coming onto the highway and it kinda just seemed to have no go for a bit then just boosted big time and then a whole lot of white smoke came out the exhaust and the car shut off and i can't get it started again, i have had a blown engine before and this seems like the same thing as before, i found some pretty crunched up metal in the exhaust and was wondering if the turbo's blow does some of it get sucked through the engine as well causing it to blow the whole thing up or is it not starting just because the turbo's are stuffed. I have a power fc if that makes a difference, thought maybe it's a safety thing on it.

When i popped the bonnet i could smell oil but nothing was coming out under the engine and when i tried to start it again there was some smoke coming from the turbo area so i figured it might have blown the oil feed line off too but i couldn't get in there to look at it properly.

It's a GTS-T with an RB26 conversion.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Tom.

god i hope not or it'll be the second time i've blown a rb26 in about 5 months  Plus i have a baby due in like 3 months, it'll take me ages to save up to fix it  If anyone wants to buy it for 10k it's still for sale  Good project even if you rip out the whole engine and put a new RB26 in there you'd get away with it for around 15k :P

you were a brave man putting in a second rb26 with ceramic wheeled turbos :(

Why didnt you change them when the motor was out?

'cause the guy i got to change them was a mechanic from my work and he reckoned that they came standard with steel wheels even though i told him a good 50 times that only the n1's came with steel wheels but he was positive the new rb26 he sourced me had them. I think he was pissed cause he grossly under quoted me to swap the engines over and he didn't want to do any more work than he had to haha

You said it wouldn't start--it won't turn over at all or it would actually start? If it won't even turn over, you just trashed a motor. Either pieces are wedged in the motor or you starved it of oil and it seized (if it won't turn over at all).
