some strange sound

when i start the car, i heard some keke sound from the engine bay for a short time, especially in the morning, however, when the car has warmed up, it dosen't have the sound, can u guys tell me what wrong with my car??

the sound is just like the noise from old car we always heard, but it just comes up for around 2 seconds when i start the car.

could be your lifters ? when a bit worn they will tap a bit when the motor is cold and then go quiet.

Does it sound like someone has put a ducks nuts in a vice? A really annoying squeeky sound, only when cold?

If so it is the same problem I have...

I'm 99% sure it is the bearigs in the starter motor. If you pull the starter out, clean it and re-grease it, it should be OK.

If I had dollar for every time I've heard this asked, I'd have about $76 by now.

It takes a while for the oil pump to get the oil to where it's needed.

If the sound really distresses you, try using a thicker oil.

Personally, I wouldn't bother about it.

Just don't go hammering the car until the oil has had a chance to work its way around the motor.

Sure it is annoying.

Mine does it now as it has done a hard 130,000km's.

My old VL used to do it.

Nothing to worry about.
