Japanese Sat-nav

Hey all,

my R33 was imported with a Kenwood GZ-700 touch screen sat-nav system.

It has a CD that only has Japanese maps in it and speaks in Japanese too.

Can i change the software/firmware to speak English and display maps of Sydney?

nope. its ENTIRELY different. the local ones are garmin based. is short - bin it or move to japan

Looks like an excuse to replace the unit with a cluster of gauges...

Nah mate not the stock one. If it was stock i'd want to change it to something better anyway. Because the Sat Nav isn't cheap i thought it'd be good to get it working rather than chuck it. Thought maybe give Ebay a try when i take it out

P.S my car is an R34 i heard u can buy a converter.. ??

had a 34 vspec in today, not a lot apart from removing the OE TV and putting someting else in.
