Hi guys,

Im playing around with the idea of getting my bottom end rebuilt with forged Jun Pistons and Rods. I would go for the full stroker kit but it is a bit tooo expensive. If i kept eh standard crank would it be able to take a good pounding with high booost pressures or am i better off just going for a stroker kit? Im aiming for about 650 -700 bhp.

Cheers

Gerry

Hi mario,

Idealy i want to be running approx 700bhp. The engine covered 45000 miles in japan with some good power. All the signs are there like the cams, catch tank, twin plate clutch, straight through exhaust, trust twin intake intercooler, hard pipe kit, hks induction kit and (i think) modified turbos. Gary of GTART in the UK mapped the Power FC and it got 460bhp (not at the wheels) on 95RON juice. I have covered approx 2000miles since it got here and on a couple of occasions the Power FC triggered the Knock warning light on the dash so i dont know how much shock the crank has taken but that was at about 6.5k rpm standing start in a drag race. I think the Power FC showed 90 on the Knock Monitor feature which isnt too good. Getting a bit side tracked here lol. Is it a good idea to get the crank nitrided?
