Charles W.
I am putting a RB26 into my R32 gts-t and i am using a RB25 series 1 gearbox. I was searching on the forum but there is nothing about modifying hte drive shaft. I don't know what do i have to do the drive shaft? The guy who is modifying the drive shaft needs to know the measurements of it. any advice would be great. thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/ Share on other sites

Grunter
Mate I have heard of people getting tail sharfts made up and they normally like to see the car in person and measure it up.They need to measure the car at std ride height and the suspension travel to make sure it has enough length and won't restrick movement.Hope this is of some help Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/#findComment-3464360 Share on other sites
bubba
Use the rear half of your tailshaft and the front half of a 33 gtst tailshaft. 25 box is longer than a 20 and has a different output shaft. May need to have the length altered slightly. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/#findComment-3464383 Share on other sites

Simon-S14
Mate I have heard of people getting tail sharfts made up and they normally like to see the car in person and measure it up.They need to measure the car at std ride height and the suspension travel to make sure it has enough length and won't restrick movement.Hope this is of some help the tailshaft is a fixed length in a skyline, as it has IRS it doesnt move with susp travel. some people have needed custom front sections (me) while others didnt need to modify at all (Cubes) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/#findComment-3466568 Share on other sites
Charles W.
so all i need is the R33 gts-t yoke and get it custom welded to the R32 shaft. doesnt anyone know the length of the driveshaft? i need to give the measurement to the guy who makes the shaft, however, my car is not drivable and he lives very far from me. SirRacer
i dont think it needs to be extended at all. the r33 box is slightly longer anyways so i dont see 100mm or so difference making any problems Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/#findComment-3489169 Share on other sites
Simon-S14
lol mine would NOT fit, had to shorten shaft. Cubes DID fit, no shaft mods needed diff ppl get diff results...not sure why. could have to do with crosmenbers used?? Either way measure it up for try the 33 shaft first before working out if you need a modded one or not Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/192388-rb25-gearbox-to-r32/#findComment-3489454 Share on other sites

This is all they need, they did the one for our rb26 with RB25 box into s13 with only this measurement. bubba
When we had my engine out on the weekend I compared my stock 32 gtst tailshaft with that of a 32 gtst running a 26 with a 25 box that was in the workshop.. they were practically the same length (minus a couple of mm probably due to the cutting off of the old yoke).
