Anyone with an R33 S2 must know what I'm on about.

When attempting to clean the dash (the part with the rough surface around the headunit etc), it shreds most

cleaning implements and as a result, leaves tiny little bits of snagged crap all over the surface.

I did use a vacuum and a brush attachment previously, but that really just moved the dust and whatnot around

instead of picking it up.

Has anyone got a method of cleaning this part with effective results?

I know exactly what you mean, it's nice when it's new, but once you start trying to clean it, all manner of crap gets stuck in there. I don't now what they were smoking when they came up with that design.

I use an old damp t-shirt to get the dust off, then go over it with Armourall type spray vinyl/plastic cleaner/protector stuff, again, using an old cotton t-shirt. It comes out pretty mint. I don't like to use protector that makes vinyl look real wet and shiny, I usually go for a product that gives a semi-gloss type finish if ya get what I mean.

I sanded and sprayed mine, so its fairly smooth, so i dont have that problem.

how did you do this? what paints did you use? any specific paint for plastic?

I've givin up trying to clean it

I remember reading somewhere that the S1 dash surround is smooth, is this true?

I'll either get an S1 surround or paint the barstard because cleaning it is a waste of time..

one part apple vinegar, ten parts water, the best thing to use is the enjo glove. Well worth the money. Does inside and outside. Wont leave the nasties behind. A light spray of armour-all will finish the job. The more time you leave to soak the more gloss or 'shine' effect you will obtain.
