you have a resonnator in the exhaust already - it's that hot dog shaped thing in the centre bit of pipe.

get a proper 3" muffler (like the one below), cut the resonnator out and put the 3" muffler in.

done.

Sounds like a big job... needs welding?

I also have my back seat taken out (coupe) would this perhaps made the noise levels sudenly increase from the exhaust?

Apexi ECV

You won't lose any flow, and its claimed by APEXi that it can reduce noise levels down to 10dB.

$100 - $200 second hand/brand new depending where you get it.

Works very well and easy to install.

This is only good though if you want it quiet occasionally, if you want it quiet all the time get the muffler.

haha yeah used them for years but remmeber it only has no restriction when not being used once you knock the noise level down you also kill your power.... alot. they become very restrictive.

Hahah yep.

They are heaps restrictive, but good for avoiding unwanted attention (cops) and keepng the noise level down for your neigbours lol

I got the non flange type that you weld into the exhaust, so it becomes 1 piece, rather than having an additional flange join.

Good thing is you can just drop the lever and your back in action, back to the same power

And if the muffler fails... You'll wish you spend the couple of $$$ on flanges.

Don't use the flanges. Use the joiners they run on truck exhausts.

When you need to change exhausts, it takes 30 seconds, and there is NO gasket/goo involved!

Want to replace the muffler with a straight piece... It's going to take you longer to jack the car up this way!

agreed - why not have a quiet exhaust that flows as well as a loud one, so you can boot it everywhere without looking like a dickhead?

i know i have one, as does Nismoid which will easily flow 350+rwkw and is quiet as a mouse (well nearly)
