i have an xforce oval muffler in my 3" system and its damn quiet. So thats an option if u need one.

Will the Xforce muffler fit to the JJR exhaust? Mine is 3 inch going into 3.5 inch muffler I think

I see on Just Jap they have a 3 inch x force mufflers for 195 bucks... is is straight bolt on to my JJR exhaust?

Resonators really make not difference, so many people have been caught by the promise of them working.

Dual mufflers is the only real way to get them to a decent level of quiet

My current muffler is 3.5, will it make much of a difference with 3 inch muffler as others have stated?

  • 2 weeks later...

I have put my rear seats back in and it is still droney for my liking, the passengers hate going in the back now cos its damn noisy.

Anyway I have measured the actual width of the muffler pipe which is protruding and it is 4.5 inches wide. I thought mine was meant to be 3.5 in width?

If I was to get another canon muffler from x force which is 2.5 or 3 inches will it quiten down my exhaust a fair bit? But will this also need welding?

Or should I just go and get an oval muffler and weld that thing on?

I dont know how much welding will cost and where to get good second hand or even new (prefer second hand) oval mufflers in Melbourne.

Please help.

you have to get rid of that resonnator and stick in another muffler like the one i pictured...

just take it to an exhaust shop and they'll do it for you for a few hundred bucks - try Daalder in Box Hill or Dandenong.

Thanks for that mate.

What about fitting a smaller canon or an oval rear muffler? Would that be the same? Actually what would happen if I wahcked on my stock rear muffler at the back?

I want something for cheap lol

wow i didn't think xforce and quiet went in the same sentance... I have a stainless steel xforce turboback and it is very very loud. It has a hotdog style resonator, Ive been wanting to change it to an oval resonator or proper middle muffler but have been told it wont fit...

I went from a stock exhaust with twin motorbike looking cannons (ricey) to a x-force turbo back exhaust, and my exhaust man said it was too quiet. It is extremly quiet

My system sounds really good at the moment, it consists of an x-force 3" to twin 2" tip muffler at the rear, a mercury 3" slight offset straight through mid muffler and hiflow cat. Just to give you an idea the mid-muffler cost me $110 (muffler and labour) and reduced the exhaust noise heaps. Don't pay $375 seems very expensive.

Hey can you send me any info about your muffler? Where u got it from etc?

Thanks!

i have noticed some xforce exhausts come with the oval style resonators and some with the hotdog like mine. my hotdog thing seriously musn't do anything cos its damn loud. Might look into geetting the xforce oval resonator or mid muffler seeing you guys seem to think its quiet.

Anyone dealt with "The Muffler Man"? They quoted me around $375 for the mid muffler to be added.

Sounds about right for a decent muffler.

You pay what you get for.

Some people would have a hernia if i told them how much more my mufflers cost (as it wasnt $375 i can assure you) :verymad:

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
