Spraying Glass

Ok I need to reapply the black paint covering on my r32 non projector headlights, on the top of the headlight. Just wondering what primer or treatment should I use before I spray the black on it? Should I use etch primer? Or some kind of glass primer or plastic primer? thx.

i sprayed straight onto it with heatproof paint, havent had a problem after 2 years maybe? i did both sides, only one was bad but i wanted them to be the same colour in the end.

Depending on whether or not there's still some black left on the light, sand the rest of it off then just spray it black. You shouldn't have to primer it, just give it a few light coats.

I should get around to doing mine as well. The flaking makes it look 'cheap'.

anyone know if the paint flaking off actually have an affect on the light output

Not sure if they affect it in any way, but it wouldn't be much if it did. 32 headlights were shit from factory.
