hi guys i must admire everyone who has posted in here. i own a 1994 r33 gts-4 5 speed manual 2dr coupe. should i change my cam to a larger one and get some forged pistons.?????

i will be getting a turbo kit put in could someone please tell me roughly what the total cost they think it will be. as i want to get it done now(within 6 months). p.s got to love the awd, oww and is my car 4wsteer aswell.

cheers... michael

If your turboing, hold off on the cam, as n/a and turbo applications benefit from different setups, forgies wouldn't hurt if you have the money to rebuild the bottom end, but are far from necessary. I'd be spending the money on decent after market management before i spent it on forged pistons though, with a decent tune, unless your after big power (which would require management anyway, as well as other internal mods), they aren't needed.

Honestly guys if you are going to turbo an n/a car make sure you also do the brake and suspension upgrade.

My mechanic drove a R33 GTS-4 that had been turboed and he honestly shit himself when he tried to stop the thing. All you need for brakes is a set of GTST calipers, slotted rotors, good quality pads and Top quality brake fluid (i use Motal RBF600: $40 per bottle)

i can't stress enough about what Al has just said - hence why I have done all my suspension, tyres and brakes done before power mods.

all too often people get so self absorbed with chasing a kilowatt number that they lose sight of all the support systems which are required to go hand in hand.

yeh got to agree with the above 2 posts...

im looking at a brake upgrade soon...

oh and also new tyres lol.. myne still have thread on them but they loose traction like crazyyy.. i cant trust my car in the wet at all... if i go slightly turn a corner or accelerate a bit it will spin out... i think wider or thicker tyres should do the trick...

Yeh, once again, that was the next thing I did... bought a gtst setup and some front gtr arms (GTS4) and ended up upgrading the brakes and going to 5 stud in one go :D

btw... i am halfway through my upgrades.... i just put on a tr43 and I thought 200kws felt fast... well I am esstimating its over 230kw atm without the 740cc injectors I have and a fuel pump and tune... I am expecting about 250kw+....

you made the right decision turboing!
