Paint/metal Quality

Hi all,

I've recently purchased an R34 sedan about 3 weeks ago (QT1 - Pearl White). I've noticed some chips - which is expected and i've started doing some touchups. Most chips have rust spots which is why i'm concerned. Most of the chips are on door edges and boot edges.

Just wondering do JDM cars have thinner/cheaper paint in comparison to cars that are "officially" destined to Australia also do they tend to use a different metal mixture (possibly using more iron?).
