How do these stack up against Genuine Nissan bearings when it comes to reliability with a turbo'd RB...

I was looking through an excel sheet I have of prices of rebuilds etc and I remember City Dismantlers Supply and Rebuild a RB30E Short Motor with gaskets etc for $770. They use ACL bearings.

oh.. I found some thing for you 93RPS13...

Adelaide Jap Imports - 08 83691945

I think AUS country code is +61

They ship stuff overseas..

Anyway the short block ....

City Dismantlers find a decent RB30E short motor with good clearances then rebuild it with the standard Pistons. They do all bearings, hone, hot tub etc... Then gaskets.. It comes with a sump gasket.

Obviously they don't supply waterpump thermostat etc they do supply the standard RB30E oil pump that if you buy it you have to change to the RB25DET or RB20DET pump...

I thought that was a pretty good damn price and thats assembled.

I hada quick look around last night and a hell of a lot of 500kw RB30's even a RB30DET use ACL bearings with ARGO bolts.. I've never heard of ARGO bolts but they must be decent.

Same place they have diff phone numbers.

That City Dismantler info is interesting, do they use new pistons when they do it, what do you think the stock N/a pistons would be good for HP wise. We do a bit of work for city dismatlers truck side so it wouldnt cost me anything.

Sydneykid built an RB30DET a couple of years ago that has been making 260rwkw using a GCG turbo. That was using dead stock internals, chipped ecu, 550cc injectors, stock original pistons from the previous life of the engine, and has done 50,000km's with only regular servicing.

Apparently, the power curve was very linier and did not really feel like a turbo car at all. Which to me equals good traction or should I say controllable traction.

City Dismantlers use the old pistons for that price. New Nissan Pistons are $720.. Ouch.. May as well go for the Forged items for that price.

raaaaaaaaa I am supposed to be studying for Accounting and Psyc. I'd better turn off my email proggy for a while and just let Emule Download.. :D

ARIAS pistons are $1600 with rings. Apparently, the ARIAS pistons have better thermal expansion characteristics compared to other forged pistons so they are the better ones to get.
