andy65b your in Sydney right? Who are you talking to about after market suspension? How much was the Bilstien stuff installed?

I am in Sydney, West Ryde. Not far from your work.

I met Sydney Kid, who has measured up the suspension and sway bars. He is finding the best suspenion and going to let me know the cost. The sway bars he will be making up.

I haven't got all the details yet (ie.cost) but I am have seen a set of Bilstien shocks and springs on the net for about $1500.

I will keep you posted. :D

thanks mate....how are you enjoying the car?

Really like the car :D but dissapointed about the suspension :D . The rear dampers are shot so the car is moving around over bumps. I don't think the front dampers are much better. I'll give you my final assessment after I get the new suspension. Should be awesome. I am not planning to lower it but if the suspension is too hard to get it may become an option. There are some great parts available for the NM35 on, www.importmonster.com.au.

The only other thing I am really considering is the exhaust as I can see it cuts down to 2" as it comes off the cat and where it joins the muffler. Would be good to have 3" right through but don't want the car to be too noisy or drone. Have just fitted a K&N filter but not sure it has that much difference. I am interested to open up the front of the air box as this is done on the 350GT airbox.

i've just got a 01 m35 with 61000km on it. it looks to be in great shape ;) but i haven't had it up on a hoist yet. is the bushes problem common on all the m35's? and what else should i look for?

its got a blitz pod on it but i have heard bad things about these so i'm thinking of swapping it for somthing with better filtration qualities.

so I was just out getting things checked by a suspension specialist and I need new sway bar bushes and replacement links and also new bushes on transverse link (aka control arm?) The latter are prone to fail so there are after market bushes available and they have them in stock and have fitted already to other NM's. Nissan do not provide them separately.

$NZ 227.40 ex Japan, 3 weeks' wait

quote for two bilstein front shocks is upwards of 800

standard coilovers seem good to trot

The front shocks are not that easy as they do not have a mounting bracket at the end. They fit into a round holder. I have someone looking into it now. There are bilstien sets available on, www.importmonster.com.au. He is going to check with bilstein about the settings of the valves inside to see if they are suitable as standard or will need modification to make them a good ride. Apparentley a lot of Jap spec shocks are way too firm for Aust and NZ roads. The complete sets for your car are only about $1200 shipped. A bit more for the ARX.

I will be getting new swaybars fitted to my car soon and these will make up the templete for any other request for sway bars.

Welcome to the NM35 club. I don't know that the bushes are a problem but my shocks at 48K are not that crash hot.

I don't know anything about the blitz pods, I have thstandard airbox with a K&N filter fitted. :P
