not quite what i had in mind

it's the same plug as an R34 but slightly different arrangement. some guys have put powerfc in after manual conversions, have a look in the manual conversion guide/checklist to see who has done it.

im going to buy a 1996 stagea and i want to change the computer what goes str8 in with no hasles also what is the bigest tyers you can fit at the back

Are.... are you serious?

I'd run an Amiga 500. And you know that Stageas are FWD, right...?

To answer your questions

All 96, 97 series 1 stagea's are auto from factory, so you can not replace the computer as it stuffs the auto gear changes, need to use a piggy back

You can fit 18x9 +30 wheels on the front and rear. any 4wd stagea must keep the same rolling diameter tyres front and rear, otherwise it will stuff up the 4wd system

The previous comment about all stagea are fwd, not true, only the RS4 is awd, you can get a rwd version, but they are less common.

thank you verry much mate :)

strictly speaking the PowerFC will run ok on an auto but at the cost of slightly harsher changes and a shortened life span.

the shift logic is inside the ECU, not in a separate unit, so there is a cost of going this way.

Dr-Drift (and others) is offering a programmable chip that solders onto the factory ECU, so this should be the easiest option although how well it all works is hard to say as it seems to be fairly new on R33 based ECU's (or at least they have not been used that commonly).

if you perform a seach in forced induction there are threads devoted to some options from PowerFC's, to these chips from DrDrift, to E-manage Ultimate.

18x9 +30 front and rear would be fine

make sure you have the attessa system flushed tho, why not

(new fluids are good, mmmmmm 'ok)

for the computer. If you go to a full unit like a Power-FC (need R34GTT model I believe) for $1500 or a dr-drift remap for $1300 you would definately want the MV Auto's shift kit done.

for piece of mind

Mike claims, from memory mind you, that his shift kit helps lengthen the life span of the auto (in conjunction with a larger auto tranny cooler) and obviously increases shift performance, hence turbo performance

Im using piggybacks (safcII and Sitc) and its all good, however one day Id love to do the remap but still use the piggy's for the 'ultimate' fine-tune

yeh thanks mate it all good i couldent find an defanat stuff about autos

Just take it for granted that anything said about an S1 is for an auto, unless it states that it is an Autech 260 or a manual conversion (There was no manual S1)
