G'day everyone. I was looking to buy Soldier of Fortune: Payback from play-asia.com. It's been banned from release here in Australia and I was wondering if customs would check it on the way through and confiscate it.

I doubt it, they wouldnt open the package to check whats inside unless you were importing some "herbs" with it

It's out the 20th of this month in the US I'm pretty sure. I want it so bad lol. Just for the fact you can shoot off individual limbs etc Make gameplay that little bit more interesting haha. Any more thoughts on what I should do?

Why was it banned?

It was banned from release because you can shoot off legs, arms, heads etc even after the person is dead. Simply, It's extremely violent.

I loved the first one. Clocked it and played days and days of multiplayer deathmatch on lan with a few friends at my home. Second one was shit. Hopefully this one will be like the first one with all the present day graphics and physics etc.

Its actually been in development for a while, its due out in a few days.

I take my comment back!!! Just started downloading this game now! also after that Black Area 51 and Need For Speed ProStreet.

all 3 should be finished in a few hours. Payback is pretty small in size (27 x 100mb) compared to Black Site Area 51 (112 x 100mb - 2 Dual Layer DVDs!!!)

Umm... the full release is out at the moment on my sites. Lol. Would hardly call that "barely begun development".

Someone post something up after playing it. I wanna know if it's any good. I saw a bit of preview video a couple of weeks ago that left me with the impression they'd put too much effort into the disposable limbs, rather than game play and enemy AI. Happy to be proved wrong.

Agreed. I loved the 1st one, but hated the 2nd one. Deathmatch was fun on 56k

hahaha from what I read, its all about the graphics and not much of a gameplay...

but I'm guessing multiplayer would be fun. Anyways, I'll know later on today.

SoF 2 online play was awesome. I'm just hoping this game is decent and they havent made a crap game just to cash in.

still didn't get a chance to install it as I spent so all my afternoon playing Crysis, which by the way is absolutely awesome!

The killing has been hyped up a lot, not much praise for the gameplay though. I think IGN has a preview on it.
