Well, I was just wondering if anyone was interested in metal vents for the R32 (though possibly others later)

Simply put, I have a mate who does 3d laser scanning as a business, and he can create a cad image down to .01 of a mm. This is then put into a lathe that cuts out the shape from aluminium, or used to create a die which is then moulded.

Cost is unknown at the moment, I'm going to try to see what the best way of making them would be, wither it'd be moulding or lathing, though end price may be anywhere from $60 a pop up to who knows what. If it's lathing, then the factor would be metal blanks, if it's moulding then it'd be all about the tooling.

Has anyone done this before?

anyway, just wondering if it's worth persuing, if there is any interest. I know a lot of people have the plastic ones break, and they're about $100 a pop from nissan.

I haven;t even considered painting yet, although brushed aluminium could be OK, I guess most people would want a black matte finish.

Regardless, anyone think it's worth researching further?
