Personally I think this is all bullsh**, if someone tried 2 destroy my car i know wat i would try doing 2 them. Wat if u were doing bout 10-15 k's over the limit then sum1 comes up speeding next 2 u & a cop see's this if the cop is a wank** he will try pulling u both up 4 street racing when clearly u were just speeding. Newayz this idea is from a pen pusher & is phuken stupid.

Yes I see this as being a really stupid ( America does this so we should too ) type idea...Like the USA should be any example of law enforcement. Its kind of the case of wipe away the spider web but leave the spider.destroying cars isnt going to accomplish anything. They will just get another car and do the same or most likely get a car on finance so if its destroyed...finance companies problem..Any car can do burn outs, speed and street race.Be honest, how many times has some D**khead pulled up next to you at the lights in a peice of sh*t Hyundai Excel with bog stock engine and Monster tacho and then tried to race you...??? Just because a car is modified doesnt always mean they are racers...look at HSV's and the like..., factory standard cars that are running 13s etc......The real solution is this...

Having spent some time in Europe at the local soccer games, I always made sure I sat where the hooligans did.Purely for extra entertainment. And when trouble erupted the police were there with video cameras galore getting facial shots of offenders and the strife they were causing...Come next match day when they tried to enter the game there face appears on a central register and police arrive to take them away

Get these racers on camera racing, not just some burn at the lights, I mean those illegal organised race meets. Then once the evidence is there....Jail time....no ifs or buts

Hulk Hogan's supra/viper isn't being crushed as per California laws... after his son was sentenced to jail for drag racing etc in em. American laws are so full of holes and their legal system is so shit compared to ours... we can't possibly sustain laws that are adopted from them.

Have a listen to this Car crushing

It was on jjj yesterday. Fast forward to 8:00

Wonder who will own the copyright? And how much will the government pay "youtube" or any other site for the hosting?

But basically this will definately if not already be beaten up by the media, and this in turn gives the general public's view on "perfromance cars" or as they like to call it "hotted up car" as a hoon car.

A typical talk can go like this...

A: What car do you drive?

B A :) *hides* Skyline :) *hides*

A Ahh, so you're one of them hoons...

A: What car do you drive?

B A Lamborghini Gallardo

A Oh Wow. Take me for a ride?

I think that instead of thinking of what you'd do "IF".....

just don't race your car on public roads and save everyone the bullshit.

nuff said.

hahaha that quote really doesnt sound like me.... i dont use the word hissy

ps: i dont street race, but its pretty easy for people to think i am wen i give it a hit every now and then... the car attracts enough attention as is, only makes it worse wen its reving high.

again i dont care wat anyone may think of me, i dont thrash my car and dont race, just think this law is stupid and has too many holes!!!

Bahahaha! i was wondering how long it'd take for ya to notice....

I don't mind the idea, but i would only be OK with it if the laws are defined VERY clearly, first of all so that we (being drivers) know the consequences of certain actions, but also to avoid discrimination or unfair treatment from law enforcement officers. It would have to be clear as to what gets your car confiscated or you licence cancelled, and what more has to be done to get your car crushed...fuzzy lines in the middle make me nervous and I don't like the idea of getting a good cop one day who lets you off, and a bad cop the next who crushes your car.

The other concern one of my collegues brought up is that if this law is passed, it could create more police chases as "hoons" will now be wanting to keep their cars and not give them up.

Just my 2c....

Bahahaha! i was wondering how long it'd take for ya to notice....

smart ass... i missed it the first time i read it... then i was like wat the!!! and then cracked up lol

Its all well adn good to say " take it to the track" but how much funding have you seen go to the local tracks from all the speed camera and other revenue? the gov does not care about supporting a legitimate place where you can go fast. All they care about is the majority of public opinion and revenue

all true.

maybe a change of government leaders can stem the drought.. lol. but i dont think so. we can still go to the track mate nothings stopping us. but i see what u are saying.

LOLLL i live on morris iemma's street and i can tell you its fu*cking annoying.. all these ass holes trash it up and down our street because its a long wide residential road. haha sometimes its me.. but seriously.. ass holes do it in the AM hours of the morning

i duno.. i think it'd be kinda cool to see wat certain mods do to the crashworthiness of a car given that it's not my car obviously.. though i bet you they'd twist it out of proportion once it hits the papers

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the laws are already in. No amount of protects will stop it.

It is just a matter of changing a regulation in the curren street racing laws in parliament to let the government crush the car rather than sell it.

A simple vote and crushing happens rather than selling.

What about drink drivers? and repeat offenders who drive without a license, why don't you crush those killing machine bastards 1st.

2 set of laws try to protect the community, street racing *car crushed* Drink Driver who has a no regard for the law *fine and slap on the wrist*, the government have become a bunch of political vote scoring morons who clearly haven't seen seen that this can be consituted as discrimination, because of the vehicle driven. A person doing 200km/h not racing anyone will get what? * A fine and a slap on the wrist* Why doesn't there car get crushed? A government Pollie, caught drink driving * good behaviour bond* a Pollie speeding excessively *nothing but a fine* Why don't you follow your own rules you set down you bastards and cope the penalities we all face. The rich get off scott free because they can afford to dispute it and us plebs pay because we can't. 4K to challenge a fine in court, compared to 300 bucks.

Make the laws fair and make it fair that everyone can have there say, not have an eletist group who are above the law, or penalities that aren't consistant because there is no political gain.

like I said earlier....they already can confiscate and sell your car if you are caught street racing (repeat offender). This can and does happen already.

as the owner of the car it doesn't really matter if they sell or crush your car as far as I can see - you still loose the money you put into it. they are just trying to make a statement by the crushing bit
