Hi all

I recently had a new clutch installed and I have run into traction problems out at the strip.

I am getting off the line okayish with no wheel spin (6+ grand launchs, and im doing a burnout first with a 2wd/4wd switch so im confident AWD is working to a degree) however on my 1st -> 2nd and 2nd -> 3rd im getting bad wheel spin. My power is about 260 awkw. Im questioning why my wheels are spinning (or at least I think they are, the car is going from 5k to 8k until I get off the throttle then back on again) and if it is possible for, under power, the rear wheels to spin faster then the front wheels? I also dont think its my clutch as its fairly new, and its able to compression lock the rear wheels as I slow down at the end of the track.

Additionally, it may have something to do with attesa not being bled properly. When it was bled last time, my mechanic said there was normally a yellow "bleed" wire at the back which he could not find. As a result he used a airgun to preassurise the system and force fluid through that way - the AWD system works still so I dont think hes broken anything, however there is a large bubble in the middle of my fluid tank at the back - its the strangest thing I have seen in a while. There is a deposit of fluid at the bottom about 4 cm high, then a 3 cm bubble, then the rest of the fluid. When you turn the ignition on the pump can be heard and the bubble gets smaller.

We tried out best to get rid of this bubble and we could not do it. What is required? Do you need photos? I will provide them later on tonight.

I also have one of Paul Ruzic's AWD torque split controllers fitted and can feel this working in corners which leads me to believe that the AWD system is working to a degree.

Thanks for your help in advance :D

Cheers

Ian

I would say it's either clutch slip, or transfer case slip. very unlikely it's wheel spin. even in purely RWD your car will not be lighting up the tyres every gearshift with just 260kwatw. what tyres are you runing though?

... did anyone see your wheels actually spin on your run up the strip? for drag i personally would just run it in RWD anyway and just drop the rear tyre pressure a tad. i checked my attessa fluid the other day and i dont have a bubble in mine at all. ill look for that yellow bleed wire too tomorrow morning to see if i have one. will be interesting to hear the result of this issue

The "yellow bleed wire" is yellow/green and should be attached to a white plug

Its not in the back its behind the drivers side kick panel and runs the pump constantly when disconnected

I'm sure theres a tutorial on here somewhere,if you dont have the GTR w/shop manual.

How old is your clutch, how many ks and launches has it done?
