Can We Have Two Bovs?

hi there,

seen friend's r32 with 2 BOVs, stock one on the standard location and plum back and the after market one on the FMIC pipe vented to atmo..

are u reckon this is ok on the standard RB20? will this set up gonna cause anything?

was the stock one blocked off at all?

i can remember a few years ago a mate tried this and the aftermarket bov wouldn't always work. the stock one was opening first. we ended up making a plate and blocked the stock one off.

can't see any problem in having two but the question really is why bother? its so easy to block off the stock one.

u can, which is what im planning on doing, all u need to do is run a relaay through between the 2 vac lines with an alternating switch. 1 sdie is atmo bov, other is stock.

i have this setup with a hks ssqv. if i atmo the standard bov i get stalling issues and have to heel and toe 24/7. whereas if i block the standard bov i get a compressor surge sound mixed with the aftermarket bov sound (not good for ceramic turbo). so what i did was plumback the standard bov and it runs fine but the sound is a mix of the standard bov and the ssqv. hope that helps

dont know if this will work. i thought you needed the spring tension aswell as the boost pressure coming down the vac line to hold the bov closed under boost?

I've got no idea what he did with his set up, just saw it and wondering?? I think the stock one still plum back.. I think he might had the same problem as dmr
