today ive received my first f*king body kit and found out it was f*kIN CRACKED ALL OVER THE PLACE. THEN ive found out the f*king body from front, side, rear has all these WAVES to make it look like a piece of shit. Then the cut outs and where the number plate goes bend OUTWARDS instead of being straight. ive been QUOTED f*kIN $1200 to fix JUST THE FRONT f*kN BAR! and in addition they didn't want to refund it. Now they want me to f*kn pay the shipping cost to send it back to receive my REFUND!

Who else bought the do-luck front, bomex side and rear from dmd motorsports, cuz i wanna know how the hell they fixed it or fit it in....

I apologise for my aggressive manner, but i would like to know who else purchased the same kit from this place cuz i want to know how on earth they ended up fitting it on with a nice look.

By the way its just to "FIX" is $1200. Paint is separate.

Thats a punch the goolies for DMD

Is there anyway YOU could fix it? Buy a fiberglass kit.. a little sand paper.. and your goin great guns!

Its an option for a last resort.. Saves you a whole heaps of money!

then i can imagine the damage is quite extensive for that price.

How far away from them are you? obvously if possible supply them a copy of the quote you recieved along with photos of the parts you recieved and see if a better agreement can be made.

was there any insurance supplied with the shipping?

If i do it myself, i rather just refund the kit back even though i lose some money... Louie from Xclusive Colours (who was highly recommended from this forum) told me its not worth to fix cuz if i want it fixed it'll cost more than the genuine bomex and do-luck bars, and also that the weight of the kit will be unbelievably heavy.

Im in NSW and they're in QLD, so i guess pretty far... Louie from Xclusive Colours have talked to Don from DMD on the phone infront of me about everything, and in the end all Don wants to do is give a refund back at my expense for shipping the kits.

Anywhere else sell or make do-luck front bars in NSW?

My point of this THREAD IS, I want to know how the previous buyers from DMD that bought the same kit as i did dealt with these waves (uneven surfaces), and all the problems ive mentioned b4, EXCLUDING the part where cracks are cuz thats understandable....????

I didn't buy the Do Luck kit but I did buy a set of 400R side skirts of DMD, as expected, needed a bit of trim here and there but generally, they fit well so no complaints for the price I got it for.

shame ive heard they generally aint too bad (i know thier URAS kits are wavy as ive had to supply replacement parts in the past), if you were in vic i would give you a trade in on a genuine uras kit but the frieght thing to nsw just kills it.

ive bought the exact same kit from dmd, good quality. and i just bought a bonnet from them aswell, one of the better ones ive seen in quality.

from wat im hearing its hard to believe ur talkn about dmd. sounds like something happened after transit or something

Sorry to hear that your not happy with your kit

But i've brought several kits from DMD, and recently i got a Do-Luck GTR front bar for my car and can't be happier with the quality.

As goes for my M-sports rear aswell.

Out of the 10 kits or so i've brought from them, not one was in unsatifactory form. I actually manufacture and sell bodykits in my spare time and i must say DMD is one of the best in the business, there is so much worse. It seems only fair that Doan refunds your money minus postage, as it seems its a issue with transport or packaging, rather than manufacturing faults.

Hope all works out for you mate.

Post up a pic of your kit.

Heres a pic of mine, fits like factory, (although its for a gtr not gts)

I actually saw the kit first hand and the first thing the panel beater said as soon as we opened the box and saw the finish and the quality of the side skirts was "made in china". He couldn't believe that the kit costed over a grand and he firmly believed it was a $600 kit imported from china. Well the cracked part could have occurred during transport but the quality and finish of the side and rear was REALLY poor. Unfortunately you can't really see the waves and poor quality in a picture.. we couldn't actually see it ourselves but the panel beater told us to use the light reflection to see it. Furthermore, when u run ur hands on it I must say it feels like.. hmm rough cardboard kinda thing.. and we didn't know how it was meant to feel like and he showed us a brand new kit and let us feel it and the smoothness on this kit was unbelievable.

So its in fact not just transporting fault but there is considerable manufacturing faults as witnessed and expressed by the panel beater. He strongly believed the kit should be refunded fully and we shouldn't even bother with postage as the product was not up to standard in quality and finish, especially taking into account the kit costed over a grand. He said it was no different from kits made in china which are made for $15.

Strange that other people's kits been flawless and there seems to be only good feed back regards dmd and that is why it was chosen for the purchase of the kit. This seems to be a one off case but I personally seeing the kit first hand believe the quality of the kit is poor and not up to standard and the manufacturer should cover all costs such as postage, repair and proper refund.

Aw and nothing could have occurred after transit cos the box was still packed with tapes all over, completely sealed, the panel beater waited for the us before opening the kit.

you aid he showed you a brand new high quality kit, what brand was it?

not to hard to remove the ripples from a bad mould. , however some suppliers of aero parts say you are purchasing original items however they are copies hence the ripples from remoulding a product. Like the stuff used to see here in adelaide in shop windows, practically see thru.

just opened my do luck front bar for r33 gtst. Was perfect. brought it to show my side skirts and front bar to Bruce at fibrevision. The skirts were from ebay and were shite. The front bar was of high quality and flexible unlike my skirts which i got off ebay. I believe you were unlucky mate can't be perfect all the time. There is definately an issue with transportation of kits though in general from anywhere. There should be better shipping. Quality from DMD was 100% for me.
