Lousy news guy did you stil have a 32 crank or had you updated the oil pump drive etc?

Believe the crank angle sensor from a 34 is different to a 32 and the end of the crank is physically different to suit

This being why there is one PowerFC for a 32/33 and a different one for the 34.

Sure someone could fill you in on the other differences,

or correct me if I is wrong.

LOL i pulled it back from 5th to second by mistake from about 255kph. was well over 10k rpm showing

And to the old girls credit she is still running with no oil pressure, not to mention it had over 100,000kms on the engine anyway.

Thoughts were to remove this damaged engine and throw another stocky with the 2860 turbos in for the next race meeting while the damaged engine is at the rebuilders. i have about 2 weeks and not sure we can get the engine rebuilt in time, the builder has a few in front of me to complete.

you are kind of right. GTRs don't have a crank angle sensor. they have a cam angle sensor. The camshafts are slightly different, and the cam angle sensor is different. Yes the crank is a little different too, but that has nothing to do with the sensor, it just has larger 'flats' to drive the oil pump gear (which presents no problem).

that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

yep oil pump drive failure!

But very lucky, no damage to the crank must have been circulating some oil at least. All the bearings were in good condition a light polish on # 1 big eng gernal and back in she goes.

Not a nice job getting engine out for the first time with a pull type clutch
