Standard R34 Cat

Recommended Posts

factory cat is always more restrictive compared to an aftermarket 3" one...

This may be true but there are supposedly "high flow" 3" cats out there that dont flow much more than the factory one. Not all cats are created equal ;)

That said, there's no point ONLY upgrading the cat and there's also no point upgrading your exhaust WITHOUT upgrading the cat...so there should be no issue here. If you're looking at a new exhaust, get a new 3" cat with it. :(

I updated to an X-force 3" cat after I did my cat-back exhaust

Couldn't tell any noticeable difference

did dump pipe and engine pipe after cat and that made a bit of difference

i got the whole thing put in all at once and yeah there was a big power difference....much better flow and i do have a trust high flow cat which is supposed to be one of the best cats on the market...

just from my experience with x-force full exhaust and including the x-force cat....i didn't notice THAT much power cuz the x-force cat was really shit! catback exhaust wasn't much better either but alright...however the dump pipe was brilliant for some reason.
