Tinting My Headunit Display...possible?

Hey guys, i brought a brand new sony headunit, and the only thing i dislike about it is the color of the display screen(which is sort of purple coloured)......i would rather have it plain black, like how the clock panel is etc in a r33 ....

Does it have an illumination wire? some units have these to plug into old chool rheostat switches... i.e. that change the illumination of all the dash lights etc.

depends. if its an expensive one, then i wouldnt bother, id be worried about rooting it lol, but if its just a fairly cheapie, then give it a go
