Hey guys, i just chaged my turbo to manifold and turbo to dump gaskets and when i run the car there is some smoke coming from around the turbo. My mate said it might be the gaskets burning in, is this possible? Also i have my turbo and dump heat rapped, which got a little freyed when i was changing the gaskets, could that explain it? Need help ASAP,

Thanks, Josh

whenever you handle the manifold and turbo the oil from your hands transferrs to these parts, so when its running it burns off.

leave it running for a good 15 mins while watching to make sure youy have no leaks, but its pretty normal

Just took it for an off-boost test run... drove well and all, but it is still smoking, kind of looks like it is coming from the heat wrap on the guard side of the turbo, any advice?

what did you use the heat wrap on?

thats most probably whats causing the smoke.

It was already on the car, it's around the manifold, dump and turbo itself. But i mangled it a bit when i was taking the turbo off

im with simon on this one. oil and grease from your hands will be all over the turbo/dump/manifold.

if your so concerned about the heat wrap pull it off and see if it still does it. at the same time you can tidy up the heat wrap.
