Police Pulling Over Skylines To Check For Stolen Parts

Speaking to a friend last night who owns 2 imports, was out cruising friday night with another club and out of all the cars, a 32 got pulled over and checked over for stolen parts. She said the cop specifically stated they were checking skylines for stolen parts .

Now my friend isnt one to lie, so i believe her 100% here, anyone else heard anything like this?

yeah true but isnt necessarily a bad thing tho, means they are possible trying to do something about all the thefts lately.. dunno, just put it up cos i was curious.

well Kellie (bunny) was telling me how she got pulled over and the cop took down a full description of her, tattoos, height etc. Never heard of em doing that before.

thats nuts... but how would they know if someone has "stolen parts"? BOV's, intercoolers, air filter... they dont have serial numbers or anything that someone can say that it was stolen??

yeah dunno, just what i was told. I said the same thing bout how would they know whats stolen, guess its just their excuse to pick on us more. Although he wasnt defected, they looked over his car, questioned him and let him go. Maybe they more so checking the car itself? Not the parts.

Would be nice if there was something they could do about all the thefts though..

i hear about these thefts every now and then... are there people specifically finding Skylines and pinching them or they pinching any import?? Are they jacking them too?

well Kellie (bunny) was telling me how she got pulled over and the cop took down a full description of her, tattoos, height etc. Never heard of em doing that before.

yeah as i told flick the cops reason for pulling me over was because it's a skyline and i said i didnt even see you (i was driving normal for a change lol ) and she said that she was going in the other direction and thought she would pull me over now i have 9 tattoos and she wrote down in her book every single one and where they were on me, also my eye colour and she wouldnt take my word for it so i had to show her dont know how she could see in the bright sun light anyway, she also asked how much i weigh as well now i live next to a cop and asked her to check my info on their data base and see what she wrote and my whole god dam description is on their data base my neighbour said maybe she did this so if a chick steals my car and uses my name they would know that my car is stolen by this person but i dont think so i was standing on the side of cross roads doing all this shit for 20 min in the heat and she didnt really even look at my car she just asked what size my wheels were, mind you right near my sons school and the parents dont like me very much because of my car cause they are mostly all rich and have bmw or what ever so it also made things worse cause a parent saw me with her on the side of the road and asked me what i was doing with the police so yeah it was a great day

well i know of this 32 that got pulled over, could very easily have been defected if the cops wanted to.

So i think this is one of the ways of them cracking down on thefts, hey if it manages to save one skyline and and put the thiefs in jail im happy for them to do it.

And i think of them looking for parts it might be more obvious parts, maybe like vented bonnets, rims, race seats, steering wheels etc.

But were all guessing at the moment really, i just hope they are doing it for the right reasons, which going on what happened with this 32 it seems they are.

well it will be by 2 cause my mate kelly is tattooing me in a few weeks for my birthday and he designed it. what got me is that she really didnt give 2 you know whats about my car mean while i have no cat no mid muffler its to low and i have race tape and a boost gauge on my a pillar

This is good news to me, but I kinda doubt they got all the cops together and said 'lets check skylines for stolen parts' prolly more like 'lets check suspicious cars for stolen parts' and skylines are a suspicious car.

They would only target skylines if there was a reported car around with stolen stuff that night otherwise how would they know if parts are stolen?

      I made an extension of the item circled above in red that is hard wired to the battery and tucks away nicely in the engine bay, could easily do the same if it in the boot, just run the extended cable out under the bonnet or boot lid, I then just stick the charger on a milk crate to get it off the ground

      It's purpose will be to stop the regulator plug from leaking oil. As GTS said, if it seals properly, it will mainly just have the effect of slightly higher oil pressure. I'll assume tolerances/fitment in the relief valve aren't that close that the washer being missing won't let it vent at 100% capacity too.

      I put the charger in the engine bay and run the power cord down through one of the holes in the undertray, or at the back end of the engine bay, any time I need a car to be on a charger outside. In fact, I bring the extension cord up through into the engine bay so that it's not dragging around where it could get wet, or easily unplugged.
