To read in the newspaper over the weekend, that 2 individuals who appeared in court for multiple motorvehicle thefts and household break and enters, were released on parole (back into society, and free to re-offend) until their sentencing date.

Yes, it is all too easy to make claims that one visible arm of the law arent doing enough to catch these 'Gang of' members..... but it would be oh-so disheartening for them that even when they do catch such known members, the social-worker influenced Do-gooder Magistrate does our wider community no favours whatsoever by releasing such clowns with repremand after repremand. And then a clean-slate once the children reach legal adulthood.

State systems are a joke, and meerly a carousel for bottom dwellers, and our tax-payer money.

You don't have to say that twice!!

Our court system is a joke, and we can all thank that tool Mike Rann!!

If things keep going the way they are people are just going to take the law into their own hands and end up seriously hurting people..... i reckon the import community should get togther and get a pettion going for harsher penalties for car thefts and break ins no matter what age they are they should all be charged the same

Yeah dickhead Labor puppet Mike Bland keeps crapping on and on and on about extraditing Rev Mountford back from overseas to appear on the basis of some mentally challenged/unstable guy looking to get back at the world and get some compo - yet they catch these f**king coons and prove they have committed the crime, then let the bastards go on bail where they know they are very unlikely to appear at their court date. Honestly if I caught one of them breaking into my house or car I seriously would kill or maim them. I have had more than enough.

The politician/court system is forcing us to take the law into our own hands. 'The Gang' have absolutely no respect or fear of cops or anyone else, and are not going to stop.

On the similar topic, how about we take away tv, internet, comfy sheets/beds, phone calls, visitation and all other luxuries from prison. It seems that prisons have become so comfortable crooks have little fear of it, and in fact many would live/eat better in prison than on the outside. Maybe if prison was a dank concrete box, they would think twice about the consequences of crime. They certainly have no discouragement now - with more and more lax penalties/sentences, and a good standard of life behind bars. The only people to suffer under these proposals are CRIMINALS. They deserve much, much worse.

Quite right there Andrew, Offenders know no better than to live in jail, as its pretty much a free ride, Thanks to Rann and us for HAVING to pay for it!! So they re offend all the time until caught again!!

We need Rann out, and maybe the justice sytem might get better............ and not to mention our shithouse roads areound Adelaide and SA!!

society is to full of these do gooder people who think we can rehabilitate them, so they help them out and look what we get trouble makers who endange lives steal shit and all they get is a small stint in jail mind you the conditions in jail are probably better than what they have a home, after a month they're out doing the same shit again..... IT'S F__KED

My understanding is that the court system operates independently from the state government.

The government creates the law, and administers it via it's police force. The court system enforces (laughable) the law, and in many cases on the basis of precident.

The state has the right appeal a Magistrate's ruling (as per the Nemer case, and numerous recent others which have received media attention probably only thanks to Mr Rann's PR manager getting on the phone to the Advertiser).

Therefore, a change in Premier or ruling party would have no effect.

My experience with the courts is that it's the judges who are handing out the lenient sentances, not Mike Rann. However if parliament wanted to do something about it, they could pass law which has tougher minimum sentances.

It all stems from Rann, he runs this state, If some d#$k under him somewhere isn't doing his job right then he needs to "appoint" someone in the right direction!!

yep I agree with Darren (not to say you haven't got a point Paul - I understand where you are coming from). If the Labor state govt pushed for much harsher penalties/stricter judges/higher minimum sentences or punishments, then ultimately I believe they would get them. All that needs to happen is for 'The Gang' to visit/rob/whatever the houses of these do-gooders, so they feel the real effects of crime, so are more willing to put these scum away and throw away the key. Why do we have to live in fear, due to a minority with all the 'power', as we, as a society, are 'powerless' to do anything about them.

    • I just got to work and skimmed through 61508 and 61511. I was surprised the CSA adopted both, but neither are enforced. To recap what I read, it states that in a perfect world, they should be segregated but they acknowledge that this is not industry standard and clearly mention that they allow mixing of safety and non-safety. 61511 also mentions software segregation like AB does in their safety PLC's.   Now if only I could go back to control, let alone safety over comms. In my current line of work, we're only allowed monitoring and basic control over comms. Everything critical must still be hard wired as much as possible.
    • I've unfortunately never been as they're on the complete other side of the continent and another country that isn't currently letting us in as easily as they use to. I even heard their stop signs over there actually say "Stop" instead of "Arret". If I decided to trek the 48h drive, I wouldn't know when or where to stop haha. Whenever I order parts from UP Garage, I order from Japan as it's cheaper. Same with GKTech... oddly enough, it's cheaper shipped from Australia then it is the US.  UP Garage Japan operates their US leg though, unlike Tomei. If Tomei JPN had the power to close down Tomei USA, I'm sure it would be done in a day. They're two completely separate entities. Tomei JPN messed up somewhere originally agreeing to its creation and got sacked big time.
    • I asked someone about this and he told me about the Audi 1.8T engine. But I think it would be difficult to swap
    • I don't know that machine specifically, but I'd personally go for something with a little more kick than 130amp. Around up to 180 would be good. At the 6mm range, you're really pushing the machine hard and don't have a long period you can run for with out needing to give it a rest. Lots of MIG machines come with a regulator and hose. A lot will come with a starter roll of wire too, but it isn't too expensive to buy. I'd recommend NOT buying a massive roll too, as you don't want it sitting around FOREVER in the machine between uses and potentially going to shit. For thin sheet metal, get a roll of 0.6mm if you're doing over 3mm and above, switch over to 0.8mm wire. Even by 2mm you'd probably really want to switch. As for gas battle, it's all swap and go style now. You'll pay a bottle deposit, and then X amount to swap for a full one. I think it's like $200 or $300 for a D Size bottle upfront as "deposit", and like $110 to $150 per swap. My D size CO2/argon bottle lasts a fair bit of welding on the MIG. And I run an E size bottle on the TIG. For DIY MIG, stick with a D size bottle. If you really start to get into a LOT of welding and doing it really regularly, then upgrade. If you're like most DIY car guys, one D bottle will last you 2 or 3 years easily. I think I've been on my current bottle about 5 years. It is starting to get low, but I've been smashing it a lot more the last 6 months.
    • SR20s came with cars like the Bluebird and Primera, but the RB20 never came. The ones in Turkey were either brought in specially or from abroad. That's why RBs aren't as common as SRs. And if a part breaks or I need to replace it when doing maintenance, it's harder to find parts for RBs.
