HI:

i had a r32 gtst, and it using H1 bulb, but i can't manage to fit the H1 HID bulb in the housing, because the stock H1 bulb are plug into a twist cap first, than plug the twist cap into the headlight housing, so they dont come with the metal spring that normally holding the bulb like the r32 gtr, so how can i manage to hold the HID bulb into the housing?

THX!!!

Have you tried modifying the cap to hold the HID globe? I thought all headlights had their globes held in by the metal clip.

i know thats strange, normally is use metal clip to hold, but this one is like you plug the halogen into a base, than twist that base in the headlight housing, just like your reverse light, tail light etc, is the other way around.

was thinking to modify the stock cap, so i need to drew a bigger hold for it, but if something goes on, i can't use back to the halogen bulbs.

Hmm, I've never seen that before. With my headlights, there's just a hole for the globe to be slotted into and a metal clip to click in place. With that, I'm not too sure, I think cutting it up would be the only approach.

Any idea if getting a 'normal' headlight's clip and using that in your headlight?

Edit: Taking a second look at it, I don't think getting a clip from another headlight would work.

The series 1 R32 headlights had the H3C and the series 2 had H1's.

You shouldn't just get globes by following that information though, you would never know if your headlights have been swapped.

My headlights take H3C globes, but when installing those HID kits, you can just get the H3 and they'll fit. It was pretty much plug and play for me. Not too sure what happened with the lights which took H1's though.

Was thinking of grabbing an HID kit for my 32gtst as well - Also currently uses H3C bulbs.

Should i bother trying to convert to H! or just buy H3 where it should be plug and play?

Cheers!

Just get a H3 kit. There will be no difference if you were to convert to H1. If you're keeping halogen globes then it's best to convert to something else because there's not many quality globes out there on the market for H3C owners.
