hi mate. take the oil filter off. then pour new oil down the outer ring of the oil pump housing and slowly turn the crank anti clockwise. is the motor a fresh rebuild?. if yes did you a prime the pump with oil first when it was upside down with the sump off?. it will never pick up if you have not primed the oil pump,, first rule of engine rebuilding..

Hi, thanks all who replied, the motor is not rebuilt. it has just been sitting around for a long time, on its side, upside down, who knows!

I have removed the plugs and have a fresh battery, it is cranking over fast. Had i rebuilt the motor or re-newed the oil pump i whould have filled it with vaso. but that is not the case.

I will try to pour some oil back through that hole to the pump.

Thanks again

SORTED.

I jacked the rear of the vehicle up to a very steep angle, and fed a small pipe into the block where the oil filter bolts on. i funneled 2 cups of oil in, then refitted the filter.

Now i have 30psi while cranking

Thanks guys
