IVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A MARK 1 RS4 WHEN I GAVE IT A OIL CHANGE AND ONLY 2 LITRES OF OIL FELL OUT .I WAS WONDEREN IF THERE WAS A CERTAIN THING TO DO TO GET THE OTHER 2 LITRES OUT

???AS I HAVE TAKEN TURBO OFF AND AM BEING TOLD IT IS RINGS DUE TO THE HEAVYSMOKE OUTPUT FROM EXHAUST AND CRANK CASE???ENE IDEAS. AND WHAT IS THE OIL RESIVOUR IN BESIDE TAILGATE FOR WERE DOES IT GO TO???

Anywhoo, with only 2 litres of oil left, I would say you have a fairly knackered engine. Unfortunately this is common with a turbo charged car that hasn't been cherished it's entire life. Try a compression test, and then do it again with about 10-15ml of oil in each cylinder. If it gets better the second time it is your piston rings, if it doesn't it is probably a dropped valve. Either way, it will make you a sad panda.

The oil resivior on the drivers side of the cargo area is the ATESSA resivior. It feeds oil to the ATESSA pump located just above the rear diff. Treat it just like an auto trans fill point (same fluid even) and it will be fine. Whatever you do, DO NOT let it run dry. That will make you a suicidal panda.
