twin turbo kit 4 5k... come with el cheapo ebay turbos and PCV piping?

value for money power wise on a XR8 u have the Powerdyne kit,

$4000 blower kit

$1500-2000 exhaust

$750 flash tuner

(not 2 mention all the other nasties suprises ul run in2 along the way) <-- clutch

=$6250-6750 for roundabout 270kw@rears

http://www.capa.com.au/kits_ford_ba_xr8.htm

but aint XR6T's making that sort of power wid jus:

$500 exhaust

$750 flash tuner

$500 FMIC

$100 pod

$20 boost controller on 12PSI

Total =$1870

and u can do all that quiet easyily with minimal tools in your back yard.... and pull off once again just as quick

but some would say the roar of a V8 is worth the coin (like me) but ford V8's sound shit compared to holdens so XR6T it is!

if u do end up with a BA or higher jus keep a tow truck card in the centre console becuase they have a problem with there diffs....

and stay away from the 5speed its rubbish!

:( no they're advertised in ford performance and i've seen them in street before, they have plenty of supercharger kits for around that price too.. it's a heck of alot easier to make big power on the 8's than the 6's

........F6 typhoon....... that was so hard to do. I feel all dirty now, like i just cheated on my wife. Oh and the police seem to catch up to one very quickly in one of those! LOL

i was in this situation 12 months ago. Looked at the F6 Typhoon, but once your in it you realise the seating position is high (feels weird) and the size of the car is too big for my liking.

Ended up going with a wrx - still has 4 drs, goes well and 4wd makes it much safer.

Umm i'll have a look on the net and try find one, they're close to the same price as the supercharger kits, my mate has a super kit he got for 5200 installed and it eats my old 220kw gts-t, v8 is a better base to build power on and they sound better, stock for stock i'd probably go the 6T, but the 8 is a better base to build on

EDIT: cheapest TT kit i can find is 8k, maybe i was tripping

although i dont know if id be buying a local car when a new model is so close, the new model is almost a complete redesign although with some short cuts taken on design and using similar underpinnings to the current model...

it may look all flash and euro with xennons, pull handles, and styling....

but its a ba below all that...

the fpv V8 at the syd motor show was a fuel injected 4 valve per cyl quad cam, red line @ 7 or 8k (from memory) with a short shift 6sp tranny, optional 6pot calipers up front with 4 pot rears with a leather interior. was 70k .. the cobra version ie limited but after checking out thier weby at the show I noticed that the brakes and engy are the same in the fpv model

everyones saying r34 gtr. guys im after a local built car that hasnt much hassles from police... or whichever. i dont wanna go spending huge bucks if something goes pop. learning the hard way with my 33.

and yea i dont wanna spend more than 25k. end of the day its just a car

Get a new Barina, made in Korea, quality mate, under 25k parts cheap as chups and fuel....well hardly uses any. The police won't ever come near you. You could even pretend it's areal Holden so you don't get stoned by the anti-import mob. Maybe a new exhaust and some chromies, fully sick!

I too have heard really bad reports of the diffs having dramas...And this coming from a mechanic who works for Ford...

VE SS...much better motor...more torquey down low, don't really need to modify to get anywhere. Keep it stock. Pretty good handling for something so massive, brakes really let it down though. Unfortunately you won't find any for 25k yet.

If you have to buy a Ford I'd buy it in Auto...and you'd have to do something to the engine to make it more responsive. It's a little like the euro V8's that need to be reved to start going anywhere.

Why not buy a Lexus LS400? Cheap as, bulletproof motor, leather interior the whole shebang.

I know I am gonna sound a little different here but here goes....Ever considered a Toyota chaser or an Aristo ? yes they are not local however they can be stupidly fast and still look like an ordinary sedan..

thats what I would be buying for that sort of coin

    • thanks mate, one of the reasons I even bought it to be fair.
    • I found parts on EFI Solutions webshop that seemed to be the accurate ones. I haven't gotten around to fitting the turbos back on the car yet since I still have to deal with the shitty crack in the engine block. But I'm confident that the bolts I ordered will fit. According to EFI they are also 7-16/24. The reason M11x1 got involved here is because it is apparently very similar to 7-16/24.
    • Well, to be fair to the car I've driven it daily for almost a decade now, although in that time only put on 50k, as it just recently passed 100k miles early this year. For the most part its been fine because I've been able to source parts from AUS like jacks jdm and a few places in Japan, some things like pads have been easy since 300z pads swap right in... I realize its probably at that time in its life i should find a new DD (but I rent and only have so much space, no garage) so new cars just complicate things. As it is older though, I recognize its about that time as with my '67 GTO to maybe side step and find an alternative, but if i can keep driving it... I want to.   That said, I may just look into a local shop that might be able to, problem is the mechanic I work with has limited space as a mom and pop operation, and he's a busy busy man, so id need to find out if he can keep the car in the meantime, which may or may not be practical for him. Maybe I'll just buy one off jacks jdm and get that refurbed /shrug.. just looking at options and what others may have to offer for advice on the matter. Like I said, its hard finding people around here who actually have one, I've had mine 9 and a half years and I've met 3 others, and they are all military, one was oem from 95 with 30k miles (rip that car... guy got hit after someone crossed s double yellow, totaled it)
    • I've noticed my rear springs sag a bit compared to the fronts. I have stock springs and KYB struts. The front wheels are pretty consistent in their ride height, but compared to the front wheels, one of the rears sits 20mm lower, and the other 40mm lower. This negatively affects the ground clearance, and also angles the headlights up. What are some some economical options for new springs? Or information like good spring rates, lengths  in order to find a suitable replacement etc Far from lowering the car, I'd prefer to raise it a bit to keep it ground clearance friendly.
    • I searched for ages as well, I'm importing an engine to get the head off it.
