subzeroR33
Well i know this thread is pretty much answered for ya now, your set up looks good. I have an Rb25 running a GT35 with a 1.06 housing a bit laggy for street but it comes on hard, it puts out 330rwkw on 1.6bar at 19 psi. So i am sure you will push out a bit more being a 26. Adriano
Built one with a .63 gt35r, 16 psi saw 309RWKW, and 19 psi saw 326 on a stock rb26 with djetro and injectors. Rezlo
I see a lot of you guys running 3.5 or 4" exhausts with your 3076 and 35R sized turbo combo's, do you notice a good increase with performance running these size systems over a good manderal 3"? My GT3582R has the 4bolt 3" outlet, wondering if its worth ripping the manderal 3" out and putting a 4" in. Rezlo
Do you have a screamer or a plumback Plumb back in a long smooth radius right before the bottom flange of my down pipe, I run a turn down off the down pipe for drag's. I dont run a cat, dont need to, and from my down pipe to the tail pipe there is less than 80 degree's of bend threw out the system. My problem with going bigger than 76mm is ground clearance, some roads suck here, and on the street I like it to be fairly quiet, but if there is decent performance to be made, well yeah Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194599-has-anyone-got-an-rb26-with-a-single-gt35-on-it/page/4/#findComment-3533282 Share on other sites
GeeTR
Sounds like you already have a decent system, so if noise, ground clearance are issues for you, i wouldn't think it would warrant the effort (power) for you to go to 4" If your starting from scratch thats another matter Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194599-has-anyone-got-an-rb26-with-a-single-gt35-on-it/page/4/#findComment-3533479 Share on other sites
Shaun
Unfortunately due to clearance in the engine bay, i had to use a 3 inch dump pipe and then it goes into 4 inch about a foot from the turbo. Ill be plumbing the screamer pipe into the 4 inch section when i get sick of the noise. Ive got a trust exhaust that is really straight and really loud, but it does siit low. I think ill be getting the hangers modified so that it sits higher, as there is alot of room between the body and exhaust. On another topic, do you guys know if a 4 door r32 gtst exhaust will fit an r32 2 door? Also, will an R32 gtr exhaust fit my R32 gtst? Ive got a choice between two in order to pass this noise test. Thanks, Shaun. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194599-has-anyone-got-an-rb26-with-a-single-gt35-on-it/page/4/#findComment-3533786 Share on other sites

I was running a 3.5 to 4 inch exhaust and the turbo didnt kick in till 4500rpm, i actually changed it to a straight through 3 inch and it cut the lag down by 500 - 700 rpm. The three inch feels more responsive. I think the R32 GTR exhaust will fit with a few little mods. Have you looked at the N1 apexi exhaust. Obviously the drop in velocity makes a big difference, Ive got my RB stuck in an S14 so its also very tight and can only fit 3" for a down pipe with my top mount GT35, Ill keep the system like it is and besides, 4" stainless here would work out to about $1000 excluding the flex pipe and mufflers. Shaun
I didnt think that exhaust size would make a difference in boost threshold?? Wouldnt a larger exhaust make the turbo spool up quicker? Im not arguing or anything, i just didnt think about it. Where are you from, for interests sake? Shaun South Africa, I think the added velocity in the piping would help a bit, obviously with in reason...Not that it should be used as an example but if you look at N/A cars how much a to large exhaust system hurts performance, that is because there is no velocity, not saying its the same on F/I cars, but you might find it has a similar effect. I know we just did 2 Seat Cupra touring cars (2L FSI turbo VW motors) at work and they have a very specific exhaust diameter they are spec'd to run with (besides for homoligation), one of the Spanish guys setting the car up was jabbering somthing about optimum flow while not hurting velocity, Suppose the only way to really know if your system is optimal for your setup is a lot of dyno work coupled with a exhaust presure and flow logging system (way to much effort!!!) rb30gtr
hey guys I just thought I would throw this in. I run an almost standard setup with a single gt35r .63 housing on my GTR with excellent response and great power figures. It has run 301 rwkws at 16psi on a very basic tune and I am yet to tune it properly. I am running a 50mm external gate in order to accomodate the exhaust flow. I have not had any boost problems or lag or any problems relating to running out of flow in the high rev range. Shaun
^^^^^That makes me a bit worried about my 1.06 turbine housing. Hope the boost threshold isnt too high. Although i do have 9:1 compression. Anyway, mine gets tuned on the 23rd, after 3 years off the road. Shaun.
