Just after a little assistance with a problem on my car, R33 GTST with a fresh RB26DETT conversion. Has been tuned on 12psi boost with Apexi Power FC DJETRO and full 3.5inch turbo back exhaust. Has been running strong for about 2 weeks but is displaying signs of a dropped cylinder.

Checked plugs and cylinder number two was significantly fowled up compared to the others, isolated it it to be cylinder number two by disconnecting the coil pack leads one by one, swapped in a new plug and then fired it up again and idled fine. Shut the vehicle off and took it around the block and started missing again. Swapped coil packs around and it was still on cylinder number two so it wasn't a faulty coil pack. Swapped brand new plugs in for all cylinders again and checked compression, compression was sitting around 135psi on cylinder 1 and 2 and 140psi for 3,4,5 and 6. The car is very sluggish and has a rough exhaust nte when on partial acceleration but once it gets past 3000rpm rev's smoothly to redline, I am suspecting a possible faulty injector, however am unsure, if anyone has had a similar issue please let me know what the issue turned out to be, any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Marty

i had pretty much exactly the same happen to me not that long ago. on cylinder two aswell, i changed plugs, and swapped the coilpacks around like you did. i couldn't figue it out.

i had not driven my car for a couple of months due to work being done and the battery was flat. the battery did hold a charge after charging it, but it mustn't of been enough because as soon as i tried a different (newer) battery the missing on cyl 2 went away.

My car was sitting for 7 months and the workshop through in a new battery so i know thats not a drama but yeah its got me baffled at this stage, my main concern was that the engine had expired but compression was fine, but yeah i am fairly certain that it is related to the injectors, as i have had a new Bosch 040 mounted in tank and all new fuel lines done with the conversion so fingers crossed its just an injector but only time will tell at this stage
