after initally wanting the stock spoiler when i was looking for my V35, i deceded quickly that i didn't like it at all. so i went for the no spoiler look.

a while back i finally decided i wanted a rear lip spoiler, and after searching on g35driver.com i found the one i was after

its from Unlimited Tuning, their G2 lip spoiler.. ordered in from the USA

well after recieving it a week back i finally had it painted and fitted today..

my first impression when i picked the car up was the mounting position. from the pictures i saw from g35driver, it is supposed to be mounted about an inch rearward than it is. i asked the painter and he said that this position is where it fit best over the bootlid and any further back and the front of the spoiler lifts up a little.. the colour is a great match and the finish of the painting is awesome upclose

to be honest i'm happy that the spoiler looks as i wanted it, but i'm a bit dissapointed with the mounting position

and to make things worst they used some kind of glue to mount it, the same thing they use to mount windscreens in place, so its not as easy as peeling it off and re-mounting it. i'm not sure of if or how they can remove it

i'm going to take it back tomorrow to get them to move it rearward however they can, i'm really quite dissapointed

well thought i would vent a bit and get some opinions while i'm at it and see if anyone has experience with this glue they talk of

cheers,

Warren

here are some pics from others that have installed it.. you can see what i mean by them mounting it more forward..

the red car is the one from their official unlimitedtuning website..

does anyone think that it looks ok where it is now, or am i right in feeling a bit dissappointed?

Sorry to say- they stuffed it BIG TIME. Does not flow at all.

i have a serious exam tomorrow for uni and i'm furious about the stupid spoiler.. hope i can get it out of my head before the morning

i'm going there straight after my exam and getting them to re-do it. if the urethane doesnt come off without scratching the paint i'm going to get them to re-paint the whole boot and they can pay for it

man its just been eating at me all night since i got home..

another pic of how its supposed to look is below. if you compare it to mine you can see how its supposed to flow and how mine is way off..

its partially my fault. they said they can't mount it flush with the rear as it doesn't sit right, and i said fine. i didn't think they would mount it half way up the boot though..

Hey Waz,

great idea, love those. But the definitely fu9ked it.

Worry about the exam first, car second. It's a spoiler, and even if they have to scrape it off the boot lid is re-sprayable.

Cheers

Bobby

bring it back and show them a picture of how it should be mounted.

good luck.

Hopefully the urethane hasnt set too hard.

Otherwise they will need to get a caramel wheel to get the remaining glue off.

Rather than run a bead along the whole way of the wing- 4 blobs should be enough.

apparently it sets in 4hrs to a good strength and fully sets in 14days

i'm going to take it in tomorrow so its as early as possible to make it as easy to get off as possible..

expensive lesson learnt for me - i think i'll leave the car as stock as i can for now..

just to update everyone..

went good on my exam  had a patient with a "borderline personality disorder" that i had to interview andmake a management plan.. not the easiest thing in the world

went good with the boot --> spoiler removed, no damage to boot or spoiler!

spoiler now for sale, and potentially already sold to Unique!

I now have the same car as yours without rev cam but I am going with the clean no spoiler look.

Freakin love the car. Best ever.
