djr81
I presently have a poverty pack R32 GT-R with the Sumitomo callipers etc. As part of a brake upgrade I wanted to change the master cylinder to make use of the larger bore as seen on the Brembo equipped R32's & the 33's etc. The question I have is what is the easiest way of doing this. Now I would think that a master cylinder from a Brembo equipped GT-R would be a straight bolt up but I suspect that it will be next to impossible to find one. Question is: does the master cylinder from the R33 GT-R fit the R32 GT-R? Here is a photo of my 32. Beer Baron
I can't wait to hear the answer to this I have the same question. I have done some research and can tell you the 32 GTR Vspec brake master costs about $360 brand new. The 34 GTR master costs a measly $280. (both prices approx off the top of my head). The only differences I can see in them is the shap of the fluid resevoir but I'm not sure if they come with our without the resevoir. I say buy a 34 GTR master, then tell me if it fits. sav man
i'm also watching, I need a bigger master cyinder. The R33 & R34 have the diferent shaped resevoir, but I can't see why that would matter. Didn't you get a 33 matster cylinder bb? Should do. Don't the CP5555's have a smaller piston area than the BRembos used on the GT-R's? djr81
I just orderied myself some rear calliper, um, ies. So the bank account is back to its usual parlous state. Not sure I am in the position to take one for the team just at the moment. I will put it on the list with the other 428 bits of crap that I need from Nissan that may or may not fit. Ronin 09
Should do. Don't the CP5555's have a smaller piston area than the BRembos used on the GT-R's? yep - cp5555s have slightly smaller piston area than the Sumitomos, the Brembo rears have slightly larger piston area than the Sumitomos... worked out ok... and even bias is ok - not locking rears or anything - even with the 322 rear rotor. sweet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194759-r32-master-cylinder-changeout/#findComment-3493551 Share on other sites

djr81
So does anyone have an actual answer? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194759-r32-master-cylinder-changeout/#findComment-3499727 Share on other sites
Beer Baron
I hope so. anyway I think I'll try the 34 GTR one. it has the ports in the same place etc so it should be ok. the only problem I can forsee is the fluid level sensor and perhaps fitting the resevoir to it (that's if it doesn't come with one). Swiper the Fox
i think the Z32 cylinder has a larger bore and is a direct fit...can confirm this with John Pelican at Unique. i have one in stock for $130 plus freight if anyone is interested Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194759-r32-master-cylinder-changeout/#findComment-3499770 Share on other sites
djr81
Well the fit & the brake balance are the two fundamental issues. Doesn't matter about the price if the first two are wrong. Gav
Thread back from the dead - did it ever get resolved if a R33/34 GT-R reservoir fits? Alternatively is there a local commonly available option that will work (eg Patrol etc) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194759-r32-master-cylinder-changeout/#findComment-3935691 Share on other sites

It is from an R34 so they do fit, but it was done in Japan & the bloke concerned obviously couldn't say how much messing around it required. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Eo...;hl=rockhampton Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194759-r32-master-cylinder-changeout/#findComment-3937371 Share on other sites
