So has anybody found a 17/16 BMC that is 3 port for non ABS? I dont want to run a Patrol BMC as i read its larger and its already tight in there and different size will affect the Cusco stopper i run.

LOL, so, i am thinking i may just buy a BM57 rebuild kit and bore out the BM44 i run. Two kill birds with the same stone :)

I had a look at a BMC on a Patrol today. I want to confirm that the one that we are talking about with-out the proportioning valve has two outlets.

Also, I assume that the bias controller will simply be fitted in line between the BMC outlet and the line running back to the rears? Thanks, Ben.

Bump for great justice. Can't find any listing of brake masters on greenline.jp.

I have a gts-4 with Rb26 and GT-R Sumitomos. I have ABS with no gt-r booster (aside from the unit that bolts in between master and pedal)....

ARGH..

So VIN isn't going to match up, I have no idea which size to get, and no idea where to get it from ^_^. Please help.

It currently has a 'BM50' unit from tokico on it which started leaking very badly today and is marooned at the mechanics workshop.

Given this is the third master I have had problems with.. i'm very surprised there isn't more information on new units. Especially when opinion seems split 50/50 as to the value of a rebuild.

Gotta revive this one, sorry guys. I bought an R34 BMC (supposedly), ABS (2 ports) for my R32 gtr last year. Went to install it and fits great HOWEVER the level sensor wire connector is on the left side, not the right and is a different style connector. It's a 17/16 BMC with a black cap. Is this something that's easy to fix? Can't seem to find what kind of connector I need. According to the part number I could find, I think it's an R33 gtr BMC. Anyways, what should I do? I need fluid level protection.

This is to the best of my understanding. The R32 Gt-R's with Sumitomo callipers had 1" BMCs according to the shop manual. Brembo equipped R32's had 17/16's BMCs. N1's with Sumitomos (Or Nismo versions if you like) has 15/16's with no ABS & Brembo equipped N1's had 1" BMC's. Cars without ABS have 3 outlet BMC's.

Brake master cylinders for R32 Gt-R's.

Part numbers are stamped on the end of the master cylinder. There appears to have been two different part numbers available for most build dates. This may be as simple as Nissan sourcing master cylinders from two different manufacturers - Tokico & Nabco.

Stock model:

Build dates from 8908 to 8911

Part number 46010-05U20

Size 1"

Build dates from 8911 to 9108

Part number 46010-05U00

Size 1"

Build dates from 9108 on

Part number 46010-05U20

Part number 46010-05U00

Size 1"

V-Spec model, ie with Brembo brakes.

Build dates from 9302 on

Part number 46010-05U02

Size 17/16's.

N1 versions.

This gets confusing & may well be incomplete.

Early version appear to have 15/16" master cylinder sizes. I would guess (Note: NOT SURE) that they may well have three outlets rather than the normal two for stock GT-R's & have Sumitomo callipers. The number of ports relates to the presence of ABS. 2 ports for ABS, 3 for Non ABS. n Interestingly they appear to be smaller in size than their equivalent ABS equipped stock or V-spec GT-R's.

Any way:

Build dates 9002 to 9108

Part number 46010-02U00

Build date 9108 on

Part number 46010-02U00

The specification is listed differently for these units but is in Japanese on the spec sheet & I can't read it.

The alternate parts listed are here

Build dates 9002 to 9108

Part number 46010-02U20

Build date 9108 on

Part number 46010-02U20

Later versions had a 1" size.

Build date 9203 on

Part number 46010-05U01 for a Tokico unit.

Part number 46010-05U21 for a Nabco unit.

There may well be more options but that is the limit of my knowledge at present.

Hi guys have a search for a page from nissan fast, NFA051, this covers 5/89 to 2/93 this may help out on the part number issue for the brake master it also shows alternate part number but unfortunatly not clear on abs presant or not.

They aren't anything special. Just Project Mu sized for a 33 R. The fronts only weigh 0.5 kg heavier for the pair than the rears. But you can't get any hatted back rotors for sensible money. Also the vanes on the rear are, for whatever reason, more substantial & numerous than for the fronts. No idea why that is but I stopped asking such questions after I got sick of the local stuff cracking.

Hi mate you will proberly find that the rear of the car has more trouble getting air to the brakes, under my 32 bleeding brakes recently and recon there's alot more in the way at the back to block the flow.

What air there is making it to the rear proberly has some degree of heat in it from up front, thats my guess.

A std 32gtr also has air ducts and/or possibly a deflector directing air up front to help.

Front are thicker and can soak up more heat.

"think of thick and thin saucepans, which more easly burns ya tucker and gets uneven heat distrabution" same could be said for rotors.

And then theres the added benifet of less unsprung weight at the back for the suspension to deal with.

and lets not forget the added weight to the drivetrain, a larger weight would decress accleration to some degree, and the list goes on

    • I know this one’s the BB one. My tuner did make mention about the actuator. I am curious about the VCT as well
    • Might also needs a stronger actuator with the right preloading. With older 2019 built bush G3 units, BB upgrade or 21U housing down size makes a pretty decent gain in response as well.
    • Hey lads  so im finally putting together my rb30 forged bottom end and ran into an issue. I measured my main bearing clearance with arp main studs torqued to 60 ft-lbs using ACL H series STD size bearings and standard, un-ground crank shaft journals and got an oil clearance reading of about 1.3 thou measuring straight up and down and about 2.8 thou measuring at a 45 degree angle (just above and below the parting line). My machine shop said they measured the main tunnel and it was all within spec (they didnt say the actual measurement) and to go with a standard size bearing, which i have done and the clearance is too tight, I'm guessing because of the extra clamping force from the arp studs distorting the main tunnel. I was wanting to run about 2.5 thou main bearing clearance.  My questions are: 1. could i just use the HX extra 1 thou clearance ACL bearings? that would fix my straight up and down clearance making it about 2.3 thou, but then would the side to side clearance be too big at around 3.8 thou? 2. what actually is the recommended main bearing clearance for measuring near the parting line / side to side. i know its supposed to be bigger as the bearing has some eccentricity built into it but how much more clearance should there be compared to the straight up and down measurement? at the moment there is about 1.5thou difference, is that acceptable or should it be less? 3. If i took the engine block + girdle back to the machine shop and got them to line bore the main tunnel (like i told them to do the first time, but they said it didnt need it) what bearing size would i buy? the STD size bearing shells already slide in fairly easily with no real resistance, some even falling out if i tip the girdle up-side-down. If im taking material out of the main tunnel would i need a bearing with extra material on the back side to make up for it? this is probably confusing af to read so if something doesn't make sense let me know and ill try explaining in a different way. My machine shop doesn't come back from christmas break until mid January, hence why i'm asking these questions here. TIA for any help or info
    • I bought the model back in Japan in Feb. I realised I could never build it, looked around for people who could build it, turns out there's some very skilled people out there that will make copies of 1:1 cars or near enough. I'm not really a photo guy... but people were dragging me in a group chat for the choice of bumper as someone else saw the car before it was finished as they are also a customer of that shop. I took the photo in the above post because I was pretty confident that the lip would work wonders for it. Here's some more in-progress and almost-done pics. It gives a good enough idea as to what the rear looks like!   I have also booked in a track day at the end of January. Lets all hope that is nothing but pure fun and games. If it's not pure fun and games, well, I've already got half an engine spare in the cupboard
    • Well, do ya, punk? Seriously though, let's fu<king go! The colour and kit looks amazing on the car. Do you have any shots from the rear? I don't quite follow how the model came around. You bought the white kit and he modified it to match your car? Looks nuts either way!
