Hey guys im trying to find a quote for an Exedy Heavy Duty Organic Clutch for my 1995 Nissan Skyline GTS4 , No one i right knows what the hell the car is or what kinda clutch it takes ? Its a 4WD Gearbox so it must be a GT-R Spec clutch i think. But yeh would it be out of a R33 or R32 GTR? . Coz if its like a R32 its around $450 but if its a R33 its around $950!. It's the same freakin type clutch why is the price $500+ so yeh does anyone here own a GTS.4??? that has changed their clutch

I Have an R32 GTS4 with an RB25DE in it..

Changed my clutch to an exedy heavy duty organic.. Costed me ~$350

I dont see why it would be any different from a GTR or GTS/T clutch

I think a GTST clutch will be fine..

Post the question in the drveline section..

The only diference between GTR/4 and GTS/T gearboxes is the the transfer case..

Are you putting in the clutch urself?

the gtr is pull type (expect the early 32) and the gtst is push (except very late series 2 r33s) so there will be a difference

i would expect yours to be the same as a gtst clutch push type

my gtfour runs the same gearbox as the r33 gtr (which i would assume yours would be similar to if not the same) and it also runs a r33 gtst push type clutch

Thats right.. I couldnt remeber which one was push or pull..

Im pretty sure that the diff is only the way the bearing enguages..

Well my car is a late model Series 1 so i presume its got a R33 GT-R Driveline? Other websites say R33 GT-R is a pull type clutch so im so confused!! . Only way to find out is pulling my gearbox apart which im not doing so i guess there is no possible way to find out coz there is no1 on this forum with a Series 1 GTS4 R33 thats replaced their clutch :) .. only reason i stuffed mine was doin stupid 4WD Launches and fannin the clutch . I paid the price lol

This is why im confused its all about price!. If they were same price i wouldnt even bother posting but its a HUGE difference if i have Pull or Push type

Option 1 = $425

*Nissan Skyline RB20/25/26 Organic Kit up to R33

Heavy Duty Clutch Cover

850kg Clamp Load -approx 25% over standard - suits R32 RB20, RB25 GTST up to R33 and RB26 up to R32 GTR

Option 2 = $836

Heavy Duty Clutch Cover

1170kg Clamp Load -approx 40% over standard - suits R33 GTR, R34 NEO and GTR Pull Clutch Kit

yeah the difference is in how it engages, but its not only the clutch that determines if its a pull or push. The bellhousing is different between the two aswell as the slave cylinders.

The gts4 will run the gtr GEARBOX but not the BELLHOUSING. The bellhousing is the front part of the gearbox which bolts to the engine. The gtr bellhousing allows for the pull types setup where as yours will allow only for the push. The internals of the gearbox however are the same, so its physically just as strong as a gtr, gearbox wise.

If you get a r33 gtst PUSH TYPE clutch it will work, so option 1 is for you

I remeber reading in the workshop manual tht the difference between the GTS4 and GTR gearing is that the GTS4 has slighlty shorter gearing (by only 2-8 -or just higher.. teeth) between gears 1 to 4..

To give a straight answere.. I dont know about push/pull..

Id sad the bell housings would be the same too..

Why would nissan build different bellhousings for the same gearbox.. Their the same box with a transfer case.. where would the difference be? The gears are diff due to the RB20 having less power.. hence the shorter gearing will give it better acceleration as opposed to the GTR.

I dont see where the difference would be in the bellhousing.. All the bolt holes are the same..The fins of the housing?.. Why?.. Thats silly.. The bearings are the same..

meh..

Thats my drunken 2 cents..

the ratios are different but most of the ratio difference is done through the different ratio diff and transfer case of the gts4

the box is internally the same strength, same sized shafts, bearings etc etc

the bellhousing is much larger on a pull type setup and they definately are different to the push type
