The Nissan L28

I'm wondering if these two 2.8L motors are the same as I want to build a race engine and will be looking for a L28.

If the engine numbers are the same, then yes, they are the same. Remember, the biggest difference between a four wheel drive and a sports car is the gear box. Not necessarily the engine

yes they are the same engine they come in carby and fuel injected versions as well . i replaced one in my patrol with one from a import wrecker and it came with injection . i just pulled the manifolds off and bolted on the patrol carby manifold and away it went . these engines can take quite a hammering .

Thanks for confirming what i suspected, yea I know they can take a beating as I had One in a c210 datto running a performance cam and tripple webbers and again I want to go down this path. I'm thinking maybe forced induction tho, time and money will tell. Again thanks and would like to hear of any other L28 motor build ups that have generated good power.
