Will this cause much stress/harm to my car? I'm only removing the stock airbox because I want the engine bay to look neater, and putting in the aftermarket pod for a louder induction noise. Stupid, maybe. But please answer the question. Thanks.

Thanks for the swift helpful answer gazza.

Another question:

What should I use to help me loosen the bolts that are holding the stock airbox in place? To the chassis and to the AFM. I can't take them off for the life of me.

i run apexi pods and dont have a problem with them.

had them on dyno with a heat shield and without and there was no difference in power output

Whats it like on a 40 degrees day with the hood down? I had a set up without a heatshield with my previous car and it gets massively heatsoak during summers...

This is how mines currently set up... since taking the picture I've mounted the pod a few inches higher and made a shield underneath the pod for protection against forced air, water and random crap dirt etc

Hey there, just wondering where you were able to get the piping for the extention for the pod filter. Im keen on mounting my pod lower in the engine bay or even at the front between the front bumper and the body of the car. Also did you have to cut/modify any part of the engine bay to fit the pipe/tubing through to the front L) of your ride.

Also have you seen the new clear pod air filter boxes on ebay going around, what do you guys think of these. Search in australia using the words = "clear r33"

Kind regards, Evan

I dont see any point with resetting ecu for the pod/air filter change.

I've got a box made up from Unifilter for my apexi pod. (Acutally came from their pod kit, however I had to get a "dry" filter as my AFM was being buggered by the oil)

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365.
